Using a "universal" laptop power supply to power sega md1/cd/32x (all three)

Does anyone here use one universal power supply to power a sega md1 or genesis + cd + 32x (ie. all three)?

I'd like to replace the three bricks and just use one, but i can't seem to find any guides on google in terms of how to choose the best voltage and amps, and also how to split the connector into three?

    Thanks

Yes I use a NIKON EH-5 adaptor rated at 9vdc 4.5amp. Plenty of juice for all 3. Simply add your own DC plugs as you see fit.

Look on ebay or the like, not to badly priced.

Great thanks a lot! So you just used a camera charger?
i'm wondering if I can also buy a short DC splitter cable with three plugs (for each device), to connect to the end of the power supply, instead of having to cut the end off and rewire

I posted the same on Sega-16 and a chap (I believe from memory) used the same power supply but used the 3 way splitter.

    Here is the link http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthr...e+power+supply

You can also mod both systems, but is more involved. This is the easy way out (which is fine by me lol!)

Don't mod the systems. Y cable is perfect for the job and by modding you risk blowing the systems out. Particularly the MD console which is in the middle of the sandwich.
