looking for some good emulators for this. I know ps2, and gamecube emulators don't work for it, but what about NES, SNES, N64, PSX1, Sega consoles, Atari, and Gameboy?

I've got those installed on my Xbox w/ XBMC. I haven't tried others, but they do a nice job. Surreal 64 does a surprisingly good job at emulating the N64, it was shocking the first time I tried it out.
i think i tried surreal 64 but i couldn't figure out the right combo when i launched it. it kept making my games graphics real crappy lol.
Surreal 64 is a great emulator but I don't think it ever reached its full potential. There are issues with some games like many emulators. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right combination like you said and other times the games are simply not well supported. I would recommend simple trial and error or research to see if the game is even supported.
MednafenX-NES is a good NES emulator.
I always liked Project64. I think it was ported to the xbawks. Not sure though.
