Mega/PAL CD + region & 50/60 switch modded Mega Drive. Switching while running??

Hey guys,

Anyone here have a stock Mega CD and a region, 50/60 switch modded Megadrive or Genesis?

I noticed that the Mega CD does not power on (no lights) when the console is in US or JAP mode. I'm wondering if it is safe to switch the 50/60hz or region mode while the console is running with the Mega CD attached?

I'm about to use a region free bios with an ED, but thought i'd ask before I tried this because I don't want to fry the Mega CD!

NOTE: Switching while the console is running, without the Mega CD attachment, hasn't caused any issues whatsoever and seems to be normal practice by many

EDIT: Nevermind, found my answer. Switches fine, I shouldn't have worried about it!
