Thread: Price check: 1.4ghz xbox

  1. #1

Logo Xbox02 Price check: 1.4ghz xbox

Just curious what the two would go for (just the working console, no cords, games, and remaining stock internals)

    -1.4ghz processor xbox w/ 128MB ram...console only

    -128mb ram xbox... console only

So what would these consoles go for now a days?

Not as much as they used to. Someone was doing the mods themselves for a while for about $150 total IIRC but a lot of that was shipping to/from China. That was just for the work done the board mind you.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.

Yeah i was getting some quotes from trusty on the price options. i was quoted roughly 210-250$ for him to ship me a pre-modified motherboard to my door.

I was considering getting 2 motherboards. Of course i would sell the 2nd motherboard as a whole console to offset some of the costs. I don't know if its a good idea from a business perspective. I did think it would be easier to sell if the console is in the US versus china since most people are skeptical when it comes to sending money overseas.

But if anyone has input on prices etc please chime in!

Sorry to also be off topic, but how was the upgrade done? a new CPU and resoldered RAM?
I'd give you a price but quite frankly I didn't even know that doing something like this was even possible.

The ram is no so hard. I did an upgrade for £20 recently for someone.

    CPU is much more difficult.

I'd say 200-250 for the console

Like Bad_Ad84 said the RAM is dirt easy to do if you know what you're doing. I've tried it and got 2 of 4 chips on successfully with #3 having a few pins lopped off accidentally (first try using crappy tools, sue me).

The CPU is done using an out of production adapter and off the shelf Pentium 3s. I've got a 1.3ghz Celeron and 1.4ghz Celeron that can be used for this but I've had absolutely no luck finding the adapters.

But thanks everyone for the price check. You saved me lots of money and time. It appears buying an additional motherboard would be a losing business proposition...
