Sonic Adventure 2 Japanese in english?

This morning with the post a sonic adventure 2 birthday pack arrived and is of course japanese. So I popped it into my region free dreamcast and turned it on. To my surprise the entire game is in english, vocals, subtitles menus, everything, not a hint of japanese. I'm assuming that someone has already noticed this and I'm a bit late to the party haha but I thought it was interesting. Does this apply to all japanese editions of sonic adventure 2 or just the birthday one and are there any other japanese dreamcast games which do a similar thing? (aside from Puyo puyo fever and sonic adventure international of course)

japan, us and pal version are nearly same : voices en-jp and texts jp-en-fr-es-de.
also Phantasy Star 1&2 and Virtua Striker 2 ver2000 have multilangage editions through regions.

Yep, I have the Japanese 10th Anniversary Sonic Adventure 2 and indeed you can choose the language. I play with English text and Japanese voice since the English voices really piss me off. Awful accents you see.

The first Japanese Sonic Adventure can also be played this way but you need the International edition, not the first release.
