    Console Weights and Dimensions

    Hey guys & gals,

Was hoping we can sticky this, to assist everyone with calculating approximate shipping fees and the like when buying internationally what I've got below is by no means complete so I'm hoping we can all get our measuring tapes and scales and add in the more obscure stuff.

May probably be handy to get approximate size and weight on loose consoles as well, will make a separate chart to add those details. Will try and go through some of my gear this weekend and expand this beyond current gen. In the meantime, add away!

    EDIT:

Ok, hope I've done this right, taken Tchoin's advice (thanks!) and started up a Google Docs spreadsheet, which is shared for editing. I've created three seperate Tabs:

    1. Bare Consoles - Boxed
    2. Console/Game Bundles
    3. Consoles, Unboxed

When entering data, you must be signed in to Google, and please ensure you use the correct tab. If anyone is disputing an entry, please highlight it in red, and create a new entry highlighted in yellow, and we will update as they are verified.

Also I have added a really basic unit converter to each page, just to speed up conversions when entering data.

EDIT 2: All calclulators removed and now integrated into the database.

Enter dimensions in EITHER INCHES OR CENTIMETRES AND WEIGHTS IN EITHER POUNDS OR KILOGRAMS and the rest will auto calculate. Do not clear the #REF tags as it will destroy the calculator.

Would be nice to have breakdown weights and dimensions of the consoles and parts as well as known revisions as these will change the weight.. and CM and Kg for our European friends who seem to struggle with inches (") and pounds (lbs).
Like anyone reads the rubbish in the signature.

Hey great idea you got there!

I suggest one thing though, instead of a table there on the first post we could use a Google Docs spreadsheet, so we can all edit it there, it will save you tons of work.

A good place to check sizes and weights is Amazon, it shows you the dimensions of the item and the dimensions of the item inside a box.

It says on the top of the document, "View Only".

Give him the weight of the PS2 TOOL. That will be interesting. Hopefully it wont break your scales xD

They weigh 13kg. Everyone knows that. Mine weighed 18kg in the box it was delivered in.

Hey, reason it comes up as read only is because you need to be logged in to google. It's setup this way to keep track of who edits what for security reasons :)

I always am, but it still wasn't working.

That's why I was asking you how to do it?

Just checked it and added a heap more data... seems fine.

Also, anyone who is adding data, can you please ensure it is placed in the correct tab?

    TAB 1 - Boxed Console
TAB 2 - Game, Accessory and Console Bundles (ie. Microsoft X-Box with Halo, Jet Set Radio Future & Sega GT, Bundled with 2 controllers)
TAB 3 - Console only, no box, accessories etc...

There's a heap of consoles under TAB 2 that arent bundles, I've copied the details to the Boxed Consoles section and will wipe them off TAB 2 at the end of the day if they havent been moved already.

    Thanks for the input guys!
