Having played diablO 2 a lot, I was hoping it would be more of the same great gameplay.
Instead what I got was an mmo game with no players.
Gameplay is 100% linear and there's no real sense of exploring.
* dungeons are designed in circles or a series or squares, sort of impossible to get lost
* enemies do not mob you if you are a low level, they even flee sometimes for no reason
* magical enemies are stupidly easy to dodge
Rehash of D2 characters like the butcher
Addition of crafting, which is just addictive mmo elements and really are useless because:
The game is laughably, laughably easy. Training wheels, bumpers in the gutters while bowling,
corks on the forks easy. I started to get bored, and was 100% unchallenged. There's just no
fear factor to enemies.
Multiplayer/coop
* If you have not done that level, and other people have, they just rush ahead and blow through the content.
It is possible to beat most of the game just by lagging behind people.
*Unable to revisit the skipped content in single player. Those uber people who killed the boss? Well yeah,
you can't do that in single player anymore, but you can join a multiplayer games and do it... odd.
Items:
Loads of rare items off the start, all useless.
WOWification of items. Kill a boss, get welfare epic.
In my opinion it is possible to beat diablo 3 in one day, and unless you like
crafting or hardcore mode, there is very very little left to warrant you
sticking around.
Graphics 4/10 it looks like a game from six years ago.
Gameplay 5/10 it's purely click and numeric key pressing. Easy to spin in circles or miss enemies.
Story 6/10 everything is skippable thank god.
Replayability 3/10 if you like to grind with carrot on a stick rewards, go for it
Music 10/10, wonderful
This game should be viewed as Star Wars Galaxies was. Treat it like a single player games.
when you hit max level or kill diablo, it's time to call it quits.
