    SNES jr RGB mod help.

    Hello everyone.
    I've been looking through the forums and since I own an SNES jr that I want to make an RGB mod and although I have read that the process is very simple, I cant find any step by step guide with schematics and some good detailed pictures on what needs to be done.
    I found this but unfortunately the picture is dirty and is written in a way that I cant comprehend. To makes matters worse the schematic just confused me even more.

    The author estates that is just a mtter of running the wires from the encoder chip to the multi-out solder points (multi-out? is that the AV output?). Anyways, no pictures or nothing I guess is more about how he did it instead of an instructional post. Anyways, if someone could help me out with an schematic or some pictures that would help greatly.

    I did it recently for a member on the boards. Four wires and 4 resistors soldered to the video encoder and MultiAV port.

    Only could find one picture and it wasn't a very good one. Can't find anything resembling a "guide" due to the fact it is 4 wires soldered to the video encoder with 4 75ohm resistors in series to the appropriate MultiAV port pins. About as simple as it gets really.

    Because RGB output is much better looking and cleaner.

    Here is the mod I use. Essentially no different than the other but there isnt a need for caps, just resistors. You can't get any easier than this.

    SNES Jr wasn't released in PAL. That's an entire segment of the library unplayable without some kind of hack, flash cart, or other third party device.

    Thank everyone for the replies.
    Yes the reason I want to RGB mod my SNES jr is because of its superior video quality.

    I can confirm that the RGB quality from the SNES Jr. is really good. About as good as they come, short of my MVS. My Super Famicom pales in comparison. I've never tried an original US SNES over RGB so I can't compare to that, but I assume it would be similar to the Super Famicom.

    Hello.
    I tried to take some better pics with my camera but unfortunately the result wasnt any better than those online. I tried to label them as best as I can.



    Here is the pic of the Av pins Can someone tell me where to connect the outgoing cables? Also, Does Composite sync also require a 100 ohm resistor?

    The link I posted made it pretty clear what pins on the encoder to connect to the av out but here it is anyway.

    Red to 1, green to 2, blue to 4, and csync(7 on the encoder) to 9 on the av. You only need the 75 ohm resistors on the rgb lines. Good luck. You'll be very happy you do this mod.

    Well, after sending it to APE and waiting about a week for it to arrive I can now say that it does indeed look better. I see no white line in the middle in metroid and I can only see it if I am trying to in Final Fantasy 3. I am very pleased with the result and highly recommend the mod to anyone who loves and collects SNES goods.

    No problem my good man. It was a pleasure to finally get a chance to fully test out my recently acquire Sony PVMs. Super Metroid never looked so good.

    Where did you get your SCART cable? It seemed like it was a better build quality than the few I've seen so far albeit shorter.

    The image is beautiful! Definitely worth modding.
