    Buying from the UK

    Hi,

The Everdrive seems like a really good product, thumbs up to who ever built it

I would like to buy an Everdrive for the Megadrive, SNES and Nintendo 64 but i cant find any UK based company that sells them.

I have looked at the stone age gamer site but having never imported anything i don't know anything about taxes i would have to pay etc.

    Could anyone advise me please?

We have a lot of customers from the UK. We have shipped thousands of packages internationally. For just a package like this there really isn't anything tricky to it.

Depends on country and value of thing you are importing. Many country's don't tax unless the item exceeds a certain value. There are ways around the taxes if you truly want to avoid them.

    Although nothings a guarantee.

Hes in the UK, so my comment is based on that.

Anything over a declared value of around $25-30 will incur fees if imported from outside of the EU. As there are EU sellers, he should just buy from them and not face any problems.

If you declare it lower and its open, it will still get charged.

I understand you want to sell stuff, but someone from the EU is a better choice for him.

Heh. The US's lax customs loses millions by barely at all doing that. I can't recall myself or hearing anyone I've personally met, ever pay one mere cent in fees apart from any postage may or may not already include.

I'm in the UK and I've used Warner's and StoneAgeGamer. Didn't have any problems with either.

Dont get me wrong, most stuff goes unopened. But I have had stuff opened before.

Also, you wont just get the Import tax and VAT added, but the postal service will add £10.95 "admin fee" for paying it for you, then you pay them + fee.

As I said, stick to the EU.

I wasn't saying buying from EU wasn't better for someone who lives there. Obviously buying from a more local vendor has obvious advantages (I think this is common sense). I was just saying importing isn't as scary as it seems to some people if things are declared a certain way. I didn't actually try to sell him/her anything. I was just stating my experience with it. Actually I very rarely ever advertise on this forum directly and I never attempt to direct anyone to my store over another re-seller. The only reason I visit this forum is for the little support I can give.

By "certain way" I assume you mean under the threshold (but are being careful not to say it). Which is fine... unless it happens to get opened and you get the full Import tax, VAT + Admin charge (so probably around £30 on a everdrive).

Or, you could stick to the EU sellers - which is the very first thing I said.

Not one person (including me) ever disagreed with you, so I am unsure why you keep repeating yourself.

    No problems buying from him.

The everdrive MD itself is amazing, i dont have a 32x yet but the master system and sega games mostly seem to work. You can even play super mario :P
