What exactly is it, why does it have a laserdisc player and is 280 a good deal for one?
Just curious. Popped up locally so I might take advantage of it.

Surely you must know what the original Dragon's Lair was??? It's one of those interactive cartoon games. So I guess Dragon's Lair 2 is more of the same. This is why it comes with a Laser Disc player. The actual game footage is streamed from the Laser Disc.

I don't actually know what it is. When I was younger my parent's weren't really into the video gaming idea. I also didn't entirely like going to arcades (partially because I though VG'ing was boring through a lack of systems)

Does $280 seem good though? It does look interesting to me, even though I'll probably end up selling it right after.

As someone really into these types of games lets break it down..

1. The lasterdisc alone is worth 100 bucks or more.
2. The actual gameboard (cpu) and components maybe 200-300.
3. The laserdisc player itself is a special type of player, not easy to find on ebay. It hooks up to the board and is controlled by the cpu. Another $100. Maybe less if you win a good ebay auction.

Now you said there was no cabinet. If this was in a cabinet and working, it would be worth $1500 to $1700. Maybe more. No exaggeration, a dragons lair 1 or space ace complete goes for that much easy.

So without a cabinet but able to be played by components alone (hooked up to some separate joystick and a monitor of some kind) your talking $600. I've seen a Dragons Lair, no cabinet but just components be offered for that much.

The guy with the offer of $280 was almost giving it away.

due to the nature of the optical array needing to move almost constantly, those machines tend to have mechanical failures. Unless you like laserdisc a lot, or that particular game, it isnt worth it considering it has been ported to blu ray, ios, and other plartforms
