    The Disappearing Game Manuals

Are they getting lazy these days or is it me perhaps they want to save a few trees ?????? I brought a Used Fear 3 Xbox 360 only to find it has a whopping massive "2" pages and no controls on those 2 pages ! so impressive not ! i remember back 10 years ago there was 50 page manuals too bad for the people who want complete collections of current systems in the future as some games do not have much of a manual or a lack of manual all together ! I am starting to think in the next generation of games there will be hardly any games with a manual at all rant over !

Well that's because games offer less play value, no need for a manual.

I am surprised there isn't a cottage industry of fan made deluxe manuals yet.

Most of the manual is moved into the game... i.e. little tutorials and telling you the controls.

Yeah, no need for a manual when the first hour of every game is a tutorial.

Don't you want to help EA to save the natural resources of earth? We don't have enough tech for a moon colony yet... maybe then we'll have manuals again. And physical media.

Oh no, they're coming for my piece of plastic and toilet paper manuals! How will I ever play games without them?

I miss the Big Box PC game packaging, just about every game had a nice thick manual, especially the strategy and RPG games, that had Maps, level structure diagrams, and sometimes a hint book, all standard no need to spend extra on limited edition versions of the game.

I allso miss the fact that you had to read the first few pages on the manual just to know the back story of the game your playing.

PS allso games got dumb down a lot since back then, hence why they dont give you manual to study.

Edit: I fixed a lot of bad grammer mistakes, and made everything a bit more clear.

Couldn't agree more. Yes, it isn't as fun for collectors but you know what happens to the majority of games and manuals? They get thrown out. It takes time, but eventually when no one's buying the games at the thrift stores or Billy's mother is finaly cleaning out his room once he's moved out, the game end up in the trash.

EA throws a lot of their manuals on the disc, which is pointless as I can't check it in game.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Box Set has the most beautiful western manual I've seen in years, it must be about 100 pages long and in full colour!
