I'd be curious to find out how many PAL copies of Skies of Arcadia there are for both the Dreamcast and the Gamecube. I found a new copy of the DC version about a year after the system was discontinued, and I was once told that less than a 1000 copies of the GC version made it to Australia.

Sega MegaDrive Phantasy Star: 1000 units
SFC Ys V Expert: 5000? Units
Twinkle Star Sprites: Neo Geo version possibly others.
Sega 32x Spiderman Web of Fire: <10000
TG16 Bonk 3: ? (All 3 versions seem to be very rare)
Magical Chase: (Again, I am not aware of a common one)
    Sega MegaDrive Panorama Cotton: ?
Sega Saturn Daytona USA Netlink Edition
The Neo Geo AES, Virtual Boy, N64DD, Japanese only XBOX, Atari Jaguar CD, PC-FX, Super A'Can and other similar systems are littered littered with them (The Jaguar CD itself almost qualifies)
I only listed variation prints that have functional changes from their common version on the same platform (Thus why Daytona is listed but Stadium Events is not) or are rare on on a particular system in all regions (the reason Bonk 3 is listed but Panzer Dragoon Saga is not).

This can't be true, the game sells for $10 all the time and is commonly sold in bundles as well.
<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

He might speak of the variant campaign version, but it was limited 2,000 pieces, so am not sure. :(

This does bring up an interesting point though. Do collectors usually just base rarity on their impression of how easy it is to walk into any given used game store and find a copy of what they're looking for? It's extraordinarily difficult to found accurate counts for most releases, and there doesn't seem to be compilations of release counts lying around. Seems magazine reviews and PR statements are the two big sources, and often that's only refering to the first week or couple months. You'd think financial reports would note units sold more often.

I thought the site said 150 units when I ordered it. Regardless, it's probably one of a handful of copies in Japan.

Clayfighter Sculptor's cut on N64 - I think only 5000 copies that weren't sold but rather rent by blockbuster.

that's why now it's one of the rarest n64 game.

:( every time I see someone talk about this game, my stomach turns in knots

I still have the cart, but I used to have the box as well. Got it from my local blockbuster when they were selling off their N64 stuff for $5. Lost the box in a flood. Ugh. That box is worth three times what the cart is worth.

Are we counting Pier Solar in this topic?
