Hello! I am going to be grabbing an RGB SCART cable off of ebay to use on my large type (not Jr) US SNES. I was planning on using the Specialty AV RGB SCART to Component adapter ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-SCART-RG...-/220698772855 ) which I read a lot of people were using successfully. However, I was trying to find a cheaper option when I ran across this for $4.99: http://worldwidesatellites.com/scart...ter-p-490.html . I'd like to try it, and it would be an amazing price at $4.99, but I have the feeling that I'm missing something, and it won't work for this purpose.
The cable I am going to use comes in two flavors - a standard version ( www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Nintendo-stereo-RGB-SCART-lead-with-RCA-out-FULLY-SHIELD-US-model-SNES-/160733436186 ) and a version designed for converter boxes that outputs pure sync instead of composite sync for "superior compatibility with these devices. May also eliminate visual artifacts caused by composite sync." I assume that the latter is the one I want, but does anyone have any suggestions?
The TV I'm using is an HDTV CRT (Sony 34XBR960) that apparently converts 240p to 480i, although it still looks great to me. I am planning on getting a professional Sony PVM studio monitor at some point as well.
Thanks for any and all advice!
