    Airsoft

Does anyone else on this forum play (or collect) airsoft? I first started 8 years ago, here and there with cheap guns, and got really into it about 3 years ago.

I sorta/kinda do. I've got 2 nice guns, but use them more for target practice rather than games. I don't have time for games anymore!
My fav is my VFC Scar in black, mounted an ACOG scope and a foregrip. Love that one, handles well for long range shooting.
I've also got a Kar98K from *insert brand here*. Shoots really fast, has a great 12X scope, and I use it to screw with the golfers at the local golf course. Not shooting them but rather the golf balls on the tees.

my main gun lately is a JG G36C with a few modifications. Gotta adjust the mchbox, do a reshim on it. Have a foregrip, 9.6v batttery, madbull Tightbore barrel and an EOtech optic. Also have a JG M4 S-System, and a bunch of other guns.

This morning I added up all my orders from Evike...well over a grand. :/ Then you add up all the OTHER airsoft stores...yeah...

I guess I started playing airsoft about a year ago and found it was a sport that came natural Immediately I was invited by a pro team to be their second sprinter. After that we played a pros vs joes match 6 against 36 (I was one of the 6) , the match took only 3 minutes and 45 seconds. For those who don't know a sprinter is a guy ( usually 3 of them on a team) who runs secure's an area.

I think airsoft is cool and I'm amazed by the variety and ingenuity of them. I haven't gotten into them though because the cheap ones don't interest me and I just can't justify the price of higher cost ones when I can get something real for around the same amount of money.

One day I might pick up one of those Real Sword Type 56's (very cool) but only because it has a part I need for my real one and ironically it ends up a better value to buy one of those than trying to find the part on its own.
Well, it's rather brutal here. Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.

Depends on what you consider cheap. Decent guns now cost about 130-150 dollars. Reenforced gearboxes, Lipo ready MOSFETs installed in a lot of them, full metal bodies. Alot has changed in a few years.

As for real guns costing as much as higher end guns - I find that to be a moot point. Guns kill - airsoft guns don't. Guns are designed to kill, airsoft guns are for sport/recreation.

If you don't want to KILL things, and want to play a game similar to paintball...the idea of real guns being as much as high end airsoft guns is invalidated.

Nice collection, all I have is a few spring powered airsoft guns. The best place for them (that sells decent name stuff such as Tokyo Marui) here is Wolf Armories, however I'm pretty sure a law came in sometime in late october 2007 that requires you to have a license for anything above battery powered and Wolf is pretty damn expensive. There's a place that sells all kinds of stuff were I live but its quite expensive and the choice is limited.
