Agreed, someone should definitely start this I'd be willing to contribute as well, especially since we have nothing to lose because if it's not the correct item whoever ends up buying it can simply ship it back and refund everyone's money. What country do you live in? Since you pointed it out I'm thinking possibly not the US?
And I'm not sure why people are calling it fake. I doubt a business like this one has time to troll game nerds :p If it's not anything special then it's just a misplaced product, nothing deliberate I'm sure.
Oh, and how much will you be chipping in? I'm just assuming you'll be chipping in something at least :) I'm possibly in for $10 just to solve this. I'm guessing most likely that if an order was placed they'd eventually message back saying they couldn't find it in their warehouses, so this would probably be concluded pretty quickly.

I wish I could help you but, sadly, I cannot. Several factors are conspiring to keep you apart from your desire.
1. Kip and I were Prima's staff writers and, as such, the product managers always automatically assigned us to all of their potentially high-priority/ high-pressure/ high-profit projects. That meant that they assigned us to literally hundreds of titles -- both announced and unannounced -- several months in advance, titles that usually never saw the light of day. Frankly, our names used to litter Amazon like Coke cups at a Kings game until Amazon put some serious effort into cleaning out dead titles.
2. Oftentimes the licensor's take from the sale of our strategy guides amounted to less than 5% of the total profit they stood to make from sales of their game. Therefore, Prima was almost always the lowest consideration on their list of priorities. Far more often than not, the licensor never provided us with a copy of their game. Even with official relationships, there were plenty of times Don Tica had to cajole Betas from his personal contacts inside the game studios, or else Prima had to make do with Japanese imports (when available) that Kip and I would play through on modded consoles.
3. When Prima would receive Betas in an official capacity, it would always be on Nintendo 64 developer's cartridges, which were rewritable ROM carts. Prima had to sign non-disclosure, liability and intellectual property agreements, and then appropriate responsible parties had to sign for the carts themselves, which were only available to Kip and I for a very limited time. Once we'd completed our walkthroughs, Prima had to return the developer's cartridges to the licensor and the same responsible parties had to sign the carts back into the studio's possession.
Obviously, many things have changed in the strategy guide industry since then. In the '90s, Prima won the Nintendo lawsuit and became a subsidiary of Random House, catapulting Prima into its current position as the industry's 800-lb. gorilla and crushing nearly all their competition. You could build a stairway to heaven on the corpses of competing strategy guide publishing houses that fell in the wake of Prima's one-two punch. That, and the fact that most game studios have reversed their position on the perceived nuisance factor of creating strategy guides, some even going so far as to hire their own permanent in-house writing staff.
Long story short (too late, I'm sure, but I almost never have the opportunity to write about my Prima experience), I never saw the game, and if the cartridge ever crossed Kip's desk, he sure as Hell didn't get to keep it for long. If it ever existed, it has long since vanished...as has Kip (I'll assume for an unrelated reason). No one that I used to work with has seen him or heard from him in over a decade.

It think it might be better to keep this in the US. Wouldn't it take too long for it to arrive anyway?
i've done this tons and it doesn't matter. the seller will send with EMS which takes 3~5 days.
the question is who wants to donate or not. i'm only worried about customs, which i am awaiting the sellers response to. if that doesn't work out, then fine, someone else can handle this within the US.
meanwhile those interested in funding should come forward, confirm, and just be ready knowing the deal might be done any time soon.

I'm confused again, what were you trying to raise for? I thought the book didn't exist cause no cart.
can you know the feedback/reputation of the seller ( on amazon ) ? it could tell if that person seems legit.

it's not about the seller being legit or not. s/he is, but is it really the genuine book they have or is it an error?

Did you try just messaging the seller?
If anyone reads the topic you'll clearly see that this topic is about raising money for a guidebook, anyone I'd think could guess how to look at an Amazon user's feedback, and two people including myself have already talked with the seller and posted about it.
At least read the topic and have some common sense and... just read the topic! It isn't that hard :x
