    SEMI-OT: Ikaruga High Score Contest

That's right, I 'm feeling up for some friendly competition, so what say we have an ASSEMbler Ikaruga high-score contest? The winner will recieve an all-expenses paid trip to E3!!*

    The Rules

Either the Gamecube or the Dreamcast version of Ikaruga is eligible. If there is an arcade version of Ikaruga near you, then you just plain suck and I am going to steal your identity, but more importantly, if the arcade version scores the same as the home versions and allows similar settings, than it may be used as well.

    Difficulty: Normal

Extend: Type 1 (New life every 2 million points)

    Player Stock: 3

You're starting from level 1, and are allowed only one continue. Post the highest score you get, as well as (optional) the farthest you got and your max combo. I'm not going to require screenshots to this because I'm sure everyone's going to be honest about this - it is just a friendly competition, after all. That said, let's see some scores!

Oh, and please: If you have already submitted a score and earn one higher than your previous post, do not create a new post for it, but rather update your old one with the new score info. Thanks!

*Due to cost of transportation and the fact that E3 is only open to industry professionals and the press, a prize of equal or lesser value may be substituted. And by lesser I mean a Gameboy Camera. I'd like to offer you a choice in colors, but it is honestly whatever the gamestore has, which I think at this moment might just be purple and green.

I'll start out - my score was pretty mediocre.

Score: 1483820 (midway through Chapter 2)
    Max Chain: 33

Also, just for the fun of it, I earned Dot Eater! on Chapter 1 on another playthrough with a score of 83200.

Yes, I'm sorry, but there is no trip to E3, due to the costs of going, as I said. However, if there are enough people that play, I am serious on the Gameboy Camera - it's a fun little piece of Nintendo memorabilia that still works on GBA and GBA SP.

Say Krelain, think your fiancee could talk to the Gamestop (Software Etc, but same thing) employees here and get them to hire me? :smt043

Why do you come up with an E3 price and do some fine print? You are like thoses manager thugs who want to rip ou off with contracts ;-)
Just joking, nice offer, but why do you always have to offer prices, better spent the money on some games ;-)

My max chain in the dreamcast version in easy mode is 69, I'll maybe start to play it in normal mode when I'm able to play the first stage in easy mode perfectly.

Sweet Jesus folks...its a joke...and I thought it was a pretty good one...

Cmon...can't we have a Crazy Taxi score competition? I'd rock it.

    Hmm...maybe I could start one...

Hmm...maybe ASSEMbler should have another contest...his last one was fun...

i know people are all for the most part pretty honest around here, but what is to keep someone from just making up a really high score and posting the day the contest ends? requiring screenshots or photos might be a good idea

Syndicate: Yeah, someone could, but really, what's the point? You get fake bragging rights and a $5 Gameboy Camera - I dunno, but myself, that's not something I'd bother with making up.

And the other reason is that I have no way of taking a shot with anything other than my VERY sad digicam, so I said none required more out of convenience than anything. :smt043

Blur: You want a Crazy Taxi contest, start one - I'd sure participate. :smt040

Kami: Is that one life, or one credit, and on what difficulty? Please post in the format that I used at the top of the topic.

Surely more people play Ikaruga? :smt009
