Running Final Fantasy 4 Retranslation

I'm trying to run a patched FF4 rom on my Super Everdrive. all I get is a black screen. This the only patched rom I have had problems with. Is this one just not compatible, or is there a specific version of the translation patch that I need?

You may need to force internal rom size to 16 megabits. Some translated Final Fantasy 4 roms have the rom size still set to 8 megabits even though it was expanded. This could cause the game not to load properly.

Using a hex editor, goto $7FD7 in the file (no copier header) and you may see the value $0A. If so, change it to $0B.
