I think I paid about 40 USD for my Back To The Future set as well from Amazon US. The Japanese price for it is crazy! Twice as much as the US Price.

Whats the reliability of BR drives for PC's like? any recommended models? I don't have a TV set up in my bedroom and haven't for roughly 2 or 3 years now and so a BR player is out of the question.

I see them as cheap as £55 new for a Samsung SH-B123L. I am aware this only plays Blu-Rays and doesn't burn Blu rays but I doubt I'll be burning them.

The real mystery is why the US price is so much bigger than the European price.

There are two different Back To The Future box sets out there on BluRay. One is cheaper than the other. Maybe that's the version you got? Did yours come with Digital Copies as well on DVD discs?

Mine doesn't have digital copies, but I can't see how those'd make it almost $20 more expensive.

Ah, that's why yours was cheaper. Also remember that 18 pounds is about 30 USD so it's not really that more expensive. I'm pretty sure all versions of the BluRay set have the same stuff on them though.

Is there purely a reason why different versions are different prices? They're both the same quality right?

The set I have comes with digital copies on DVD. Basically it's a MP4 file in 1080p stored on a DVD. You can't play the disc in a DVD player but you can "rip" the file to your iPod/Phone/Pad/Android and PC to watch it. The other set doesn't come with digital copies, just normal bluray discs.

By the way, aren't BluRay discs so cheap. You can see right through them and they're thinner than first gen DVDs

Funny you mentioned the included digital copy, because recently my sister bought a BR copy of Sucker Punch, which included the DVD version, BR Disc and Digital copy and it was the same price as the DVD only version without the digital copy. It's so weird how movies are priced.

I've also noticed the thin discs too, they probably just have horrible print layers :/

Costs $26 shipped as opposed to $46 in the US. Only God knows why...!
<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

What's the quality like though? Grainy like Yakumo mentioned?

that is Ghostbusters 1. Ghostbusters 2 isn't on BluRay.

Basically any dark or even darkish area on the BluRay of Ghostbusters looks like shit. I'll gladly do a DVD VS BluRay screen shot comparison to show people.

It really is surprising how many older movies I've seen on Blu-Ray, and none of them look as bad as Ghostbusters, even if some of them do have a little grain.

If it's that important then just go to a store and buy it there. Or download it, Lol. You already bought it, so I wouldn't even say it's piracy. Not that you would care ;P
