    DC3 Dreamcast Keyboard question

I'm wanting to get "Typing of the dead" for the dreamcast but I've found the Dreamcast keyboard quite expensive for the English keyboards, however Japanese ones are the same price boxed. Will these keyboards work without a problem with the US copy of Typing of the Dead?

I don't see why a japanese dreamcast keyboard wouldn't work on a U.S. or European Dreamcast considering most if not all peripherals for consoles aren't region locked.

Some keyboards (the 'Surfboard' I think) was actually a cheap original knock-off: just a qwerty PC keyboard with an adapter dongle.
You might wanna look for the dongle. ..think I still got one around...

    EDIT:
This is the original (I have the replica with dongle)

I'm curious if a Japanese keyboard will be compatible with a English game. The Japanese keyboards seem to a smaller layout, compared to the western release.

Japanese keyboards will work with any game that uses one on any Dreamcast. Sure, some of the symbols will be in different places but the actual QWERTY layout is the same.

There are two different types of Japanese keyboard both of them are horrible keyboards, but the HKT-7600 one which looks like the US / European ones but without the keypad is slightly better. The HKT-4000 ones, which look like laptop keyboards are a little more fiddly.

I have one of those. I originally got it to mess around with DC Linux, but I realized pretty quickly that was pointless. I was just looking at them on eBay, and they look pretty cheap to me. Mine was like $8, but that was many years ago. I suppose I ought to pick up Typing of the Dead at some point.
