Hello N64 lovers

Tamiya Racing 64 and Mini Racers.

Tamiya Racing 64 is a demo concept of Mini Racers actually.

It is a hidden debug menu and you can play at least one race.

Mini Racers is nearly a final build:

39 tracks, multiplayers, track builder, time attack mode. I went to the credit of the game. It has music and sounds.

Only track 27 seems buggy (it crashes on real hardware)

ASSEMbler is sick at the moment but I'm sure he'll be happy to answer your PMs once he's feeling better.

I wonder why the concept uses the Tamiya license? Were they going to use that originally but couldn't get Tamiya on board? Seems odd to let such a high name license in radio controlled cars slip away. Or maybe they just couldn't afford it?

Good question. There is far from no info concerning Tamiya 64.

It is obvious when playing that it is the ancestor of Mini Racers.

Obviously when Intermetrics was bought by Looking Glass something changed in the management of the game.

This is a wonderful and pleasant surprise, I thought you were no longer going to be doing this sort of thing.

Well I'm glad you are, and that these two rarities have ended up in your hands.

I know you'd probably release them anyway but, hopefully we can get a community dump project going and help you recoup some of your losses as these two were pretty expensive.

They were very expensive and a community dump is required to get them released as I cannot afford such financial hit.

Well, your contribution to the community and specifically the preservation of N64 titles over the past 10 years is unparalleled.
I think there's plenty of people both here, and in other communities online that would be more than happy to chip in to help recoup your losses on these two titles.

While I have my own financial obligations at the moment, I'll certainly be donating as much as I can afford.

Mini Racers is one of the games I've wanted even before it got cancelled, so it'll be awesome to see it released. And as a bonus the concept demo for Nintendo, Tamiya Racing, just puts it over the top

I'll definitely chip in :-)
