Ps3 2000 01 PSN games that are no longer available can you still get them elsewhere?

    Hello all

As the topic says really. I want to buy GTi Club from the PSN (not that newer one that is also on the wii) but it has been removed which is pretty annoying. My friend has it on his machine and I really like it.

I not asking for any pirate action just wondered if there are any other sources people know of to get this game, or others, that have since been removed for whatever reason

I guess probably not short of pirating the game but as |i said not really into that so any help is appreciated

    Cheers

    Rob

Some games are released as physical copies like MAG, unless it's not a physical copy you're stuck I believe.

Welcome to the complete and utter wank world of Digital Download ONLY titles. It's possible that in the future this type of situation will happen for pretty much every other game made. Not like now where you can still buy 20 year old games that haven't been fucked around with for a new "improved" experience.

Was Outrun Online Arcade ever released as a disc? I have GTi Club actually, but I was never able to get into it.

AFAIK, there's already ways to download XBLA and PSN games illegally, which means they'll be playable in the future too.

No, but who cares? It's just an inferior version of Outrun 2006.

I agree with you Yakumo but unfortunately I think the newer generation of gamers who live off a diet of App games will be more than happy, or at least not be arsed, with stuff disappearing. I personally hate it but there you go.

@la-li-lu-le-lo Not too sure about Outrun ondisc but as you know that got taken away as well.

    Nice

Sony just pulled Motorstorm Artic Rush for PSP an hour after it was posted that it can be used with a hack to run homebrew on vita.

Back when the psp was first hacked, you needed a Luminous UMD. They eventually released a new UMD that didn't allow the hack but the original UMD was always out there to use if you could find it.

    You didn't need a lumines UMD until mid-way through it's life-time.

At launch in Japan, you could run unsigned software with no modification.
In the US at launch, they needed to make a small modifcation to how homebrew ran and it was just as simple to run.

It wasn't until Firmwares 1.51-onwards that things got more complicated for the PSP.

ALSO: DDL only sucks, this is why games should ALWAYS be released on a physical format.

God, I can't wait to see what it's going to be like in 20 years. ALL DDL only, then one company goes under. Therefore you can't access any of your games ever again.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I thought Outrun Online Arcade was based on Outrun 2 SP SDX for the Lindbergh.

If you've got a Wii, you could always BUY the graphically inferior, but vastly expanded disc-released GTI Club Supermini Festa!

No idea, but that would kinda explain why it's missing the career mode, the original music tracks (including the ones from Turbo Outrun), the extra cars and the original Outrun 2 courses, making OOA completely worthless to anyone who has a copy of 2006.

I bet eventually there's going to be a market for consoles with discontinued download games on them, kinda like the way people buy Satellaviews and SFC memory carts.

Especially since someone here already requested a Wii with Doc Louis's Punch-Out on it. (not that hard to track down actually)

This is a prime example of why piracy is good in the long term, if nothing else it preserves digital download only games.

There's a good article here that raises a lot of good points: Why History Needs Software Piracy - How copy protection and app stores could deny future generations their cultural legacy.

HAHA lol, I can't imagine thinking decendants of one or the other painting filing a lawsuit against a museum trying to restore a famous piece of art of some sorts...
Stating 'it was meant to decay'?

Every piece of art/media was made with one thing in mind: consumption society, now more than ever.
Media/art is considered culture, and there for the PEOPLE, get with it...

Those PSN/XBLA only games will surely disappear in the future, only the few pirated titles from the PSN will see the light of day. This DRM, DLC, etc. will screw us!
There are surely examples of Download-only games in the past by those awful telephone cord connections, but I can't remember any specific title. But anyway, they are the living proof that collecting 'em will be a nightmare. I'm even worried about UPDATES. Will the future generations be able to have that 2012 Honda car that came with an update in GT5? How this is going to be preserved?

I know about that game as I mentioned originally but I really do not like the look of it and I just wanted to play the PSN version as it seems totally faithful to the arcade version from years back.

My PS3 is totally legitimate but if this sort of thing starts happening more it won't stay that way for long.

I've got both GTI Club+ and Outrun Online on my PSN account and I can redownload them at any time if I wish - the removal from the service only means new customers cannot buy them.

I don't own a PS3 any more but I'm reluctant to grant access to my account as there are about £700 worth of purchases on there and don't want to risk losing them over a ToS violation. I may still offer to let you have the use of my account anyway provided you downloaded GTI Club+ only. I can't remember if I bought the DLC for it but I probably got tired of buying DLC for anything and everything by then so don't get your hopes up.

EDIT: I have the DLC too.

Why would anyone ever want to play GT5 in the future?
