Logo NeoGeo English Aero Fighters 3 Home Cart

    So TonK's big secret is....

The discovery of three English AES copies of Aero Fighters 3, making this the rarest English Home Cart!

The story behind the find is in this thread over on N-G.com, and the news has already hit Kotaku.

Now while this isn't the most exciting news in the world for me personally, the fact that this contact used to work for SNK is. I'm hoping that there'll be a lot more to be revealed over the coming months.

It's interesting to see, but it also reminds me of my exact words on the KoF2000 verification thread:

As digital printing continues to get better, we see more and more reproduced inserts, manual, and stickers of many rare games such as Metal Slug, Double Dragon, Quiz Chibi, Turfmasters, etc... We have also seen reproduced copies of the rare KoF2000 English edition.

With today's technology, it is very easy to forge documents and even receipts claiming "a lost stock" of Kizuna Encounter (or any other cartridge) was found. >>

I guess I should have said AeroFighters 3 instead of Kizuna Encounter.
Either way it is old news.

    Here's a photo: (not a big deal)

I don't get what the buzz here since NeoGeo games use the sames binaries over all region. It's just a sticker and paper variation :O.

Once more (and for the last time) the paper work is what makes it collectible.
It is the same thing with stamps, trading cards (sports, magic, etc), etc
People have paid much more for those types of items then the most expensive video games ever sold.

Almost anything can get collectible and expensive.

That manual does not match the genuine article in some big ways

Dion, is this a euro/french manual (that warning page is in french), or is this a copy produced for Canadian retailers?

Exactly, to me different binaries make it worth the cash.

I understand this will appeal to some collectors looking for this kind of stuff.

What I don't get is the buzz from the average retrogamers.

That's nice. Something new and relevant would be more interesting. Actual unreleased games are more interesting than a regional variant that was unreleased.

    Photo of the contents page
The epilepsy warning pages are in 4 languages: English, French, Spanish, and German.
The photo I showed was of the "Contents" page, which is next to the French side of the epilepsy warning page. The last page of the manual is next to the German side of the epilepsy warning page.

That pic he posted above is a fake, manufactured manual that HE made. It is not of the official SNK game, which is TOTALLY different. Its not a "french" copy. He is lying to you guys. How much more do you need to ignore this clown?

This is the last I will say on the subject. Please do your research on this guy if you haven't already. This discovery is the real deal and the community doesn't need it muddied by liars like Dion.

Wow!! Why are you guys getting so hostile?
Geddon/John, How am I trying to make this about me? I haven't said anything in regards to Chris, myself, or NGF.
All I said was that it is not a big deal. Also, as I stated above, the epilepsy warning pages are in 4 languages.

Here are more photos of the English manual from various pages:

I know all the details of this game. I know the origins, history, and a lot more of the story than you may think.
People do know and/or discover my name in terms of neogeo, so I tend to receive various emails from all over the world with news, rumors, etc....
Trust me when I say I know a lot of details (not just of cartridges).

Now that I've shown more photos, maybe you can also show some other manual pages. Fair is fair. I am not attempting to make his about NGF.
I'm sorry if you felt that way, but you guys really need to get over the entire "NGF hate" attitude, it's old and childish.

Pretty much this. Although in this instance the source of these carts gives me high hopes that there -is- some new binaries coming along the line.

Post the cover and the first page.

    Nice CD manual anyway.

Anyone with a U.S. CD can see that's exactly what you're posting from.

The innards of the real manual are a lot different, bro.

    Hey Mike, How's it going?
I feel I posted quite a few photos already. No matter how many photos or videos NGF shows, you guys always ask for more. I would like to see you post some photos of the manual pages as well. I'll add more photos as well. But to me, this is old news (if it can be called news).

I just hope you know how and where the cart came from. (I won't go into the details right now).
That being said, I do have some other interesting items that I will continue to share. It's just a matter of me sifting through all the boxes I have in my storage unit.

I will put the kibash on the impending drama and say this now that I got the green light: The cart that dion has is a high end, professionally done fan job. He said that they probably used aspects of the CD manual and then did the rest from scratch using design elements from other manuals to fill in the blanks.

The job is apparently off set and you would have to be fan with allot of exposure tell that it was not a legitimate commercial release. It is being discovered that this has also been done with other titles both released and not released.

dions assumption is that the ones mike un-earthed are of the same ilk. Until both sides show apples to apples pictures (dion of his front manual cover & back, interior of front manual cover, insert, etc & geddon of a few interior manual pages that correspond to what dion posted page # wise) then it's a moot point bitching about.

So that should clear that up. dion was upfront about it and was/is not trying to say that he owns one of the rarest games, or beat mike to something. I think he was just saying that he was looking for the same proof that people have demanded of him and chris.

Not playing devils advocate here, just delivering messages.

Will this version of the game be classed as unreleased? From what I understand, the game was made, but never went to sale (reach shops)?

I found very funny to see them back off when asked for additional manual scan. They make all that drama about this attitude here for month about Dion before.

And now they do the same thing!

NeoGeo collectors are all the same, full of shit!!

It's confusing reading the article and the thread.

Adol saw it back in the day so I would assume it is a released title.

Well don't forget Tonk was a bit of an NGF nuthugger when he first joined the Neo forums. Only after being educated in what 'being a community' means did he see the light. I guess some of the NGF attitude rubbed off him sadly.

Edit - Not to say I don't think that this isn't legit. I would certainly trust Tonk on that score. And Adol too. (More so even given how long he has cut his teeth on NG
