ah ok, shouldn´t be so difficult then.
by the way what´s the difference between the DreamShell 4.0 RC 1 CDI Image and the
    DreamShell 4.0 RC 1 + Boot Loader
    ??
is it possible to load dreamshell only from the sd card??

Only from the SD card you can only get if you modify your BIOS. This means, burn another eprom and replace it.

The difference from Boot loader and CDI Image is that:
Boot loader: the cd will ask if you want to load Dream Shell from SD/HD/DVD/Lan. If you plase the DS folder into your SD card and select SD, it will load from the SD.
CDI Image: Will load the entire dream shell from the CD.

In the videos it looks so nice...

how did you managed to make the isos bootable?

This is awesome. I'll had to try and find my SD reader the second I get home!

Is the LAN Mode over the BBA? Or over the Serial to LAN Board they have on their site?
Would be cool if someone could post some info, I'm pretty lost in the DC world :D

    Thanks,

EDIT: How fast is the GD-Rom actually? Ain't that 12x?
    iirc that's some between 1.7 and 1.8 MB/s correct?
The bitmaster design is PIO only, as its very unsophisticated (built from simple, common parts), it isn't too fast - but it should move data faster than the SD card reader, but as it has no provision for DMA its 100% CPU driven (really bad for streaming).

If more information about how the Dreamcast's G2 bus worked was available - I'm sure someone could build a faster DMA driven IDE-bridge.

I believe SWAT himself has mentioned BBA/LAN support being buggy and incomplete ~

Aaah ! Thanks for your answer man !
Well, makes things a bit clearer now :/ I hope they sort something out in the near future, the Dreamcast deserves something like that :)

    Question.
    What do I need to use the DS Installer so I can get that sweet, seductively tempting Hacked Devkit BIOS on my BIOS? ;m;

someone remake g2-ide board, we try to debug it first. Then think about the DMA.

I need this version. 3.0 won't load any of my iso images. As for the bios mod, a replacement chip is needed. I have 2. will be flashing them once I get around to it and installing the 2 in place of the original one. Have a switch for the 2 BIOS files I will eventually pick out. Looking forward to the HDD support. If only someone would finish up a working HDD or CF card adapter and market it then I would be happy. Use CF cards or SSD for a completely solid state portable Dreamcast. No moving parts means less likely of breakage in the event of dropping it. I have a problem with dropping things. Diabetic neuropathy. Hands lose grip on things after a while. :dammit: With a GD ROM in there, it would be dead on the first fall. It would also use less power with a disk drive. Looking forward to this.

I can't wait to try this new version. Unfortunately my Dreamcast is on the operation table. I just want to know if it's now possible to load SDISO if the DC is booted with the Dreamashell bios? Thanks for everyone who make this program so great!!

When you have the DS boot loader installed onto bios, how do you boot from CD? I don't have the SD card reader yet and the CD just doesnt seem to want to boot says missing DS_CORE.BIN have tried using a standard data disc with DS on as well as the already bootable full DS disc...any clues?
