Thread: 128 GB in a PSP (read how inside)

  1. #21
Hello, I can confirm that the Photofast CR-5400 works just as well as the "SDA-1800" after following the instructions outlined in the opening post. So it is not truly required as I had originally thought.

Here is one for very cheap with free international shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Photofast-CR...item43a7e6b8bd

    Thanks, man :))))

    What about 2x64GB? LOL
If I had tons of money I would test it.

I had considered that at one point, but since they use the SDXC format (which the PSP is incompatible with) rather than SDHC, it will not work. This means that 64 GB is the biggest that we will ever be able to put in our PSPs, but remember that this is still twice the size that Sony intended to be the maximum, since the largest PSP-compatible Memory Stick Pro Duo is 32 GB, so you should feel contended with the 64 GB that you can get with this method.

I bet this is just for now.

Just like an Everdrive is light years away from the snes era I bet we will see someday 2TB compatible cards for the PSP.

Thanks. I'll give it a try! Under $60 for my upgrade from 8GB to 64GB if this works out.

Oh dear, am I the only one who initially thought this thread was about Nintendo's 64GB Pack?

Can I ask what you used to format the Stick(s) on the computer? What adapter did you use. Was it all in one time or seperate times for each stick? I don't know. I'm definatly getting this. I already downloaded the Program to format the stick so that it's legit.

Hello, I plugged the adapter with the cards into the Memory Stick PRO Duo slot in my computer's memory card reader. Both cards in the adapter are read as a single card, so you only need to do this once.

But an external USB adapter for Memory Stick PRO Duo would work in the same way too.

I use a DX.com adapter with 2 16gb cards and it works nicely. Do not have 32gb cards to test. 1 word of advice, dont remove them or swap them, the psp is unable to find some files if inserted differently. label them or tape them or something :P I lost a movie this way and by the time I thought "Maybe this one needed to be there" I already formated the whole thing.

This is very cool. Thanks for the info, I was actually wondering if I could expand beyond 32GB just the other day. I have had a PSplus account for a while now and all the free games (plus the welcome back to PSN games) have nearly filled my 32GB card. The original PSX games they have given out over the past year and a half have really eaten away at the memory. Never thought I would see the day when it was full but that's progress for you.

I got the white version from DX, I think they just wire the sd card internaly to the psp mem.

Just a quick update, i managed to aquire 2 CR-5400 using 2X scandisk 32gb and use the tool listed below to help you format your memory stick to FAT32. Works in window 7 and it is light weight only 73kb!

    http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/ind...at32format.htm

At first i tried direct formating via the PSP, i got only 32GB.
I put in my com and it detects 32GB formatted but reads 59GB.
So i formated the card to NTFS via windows 7 default format command
then i run the Fat32format program and formated it to FAT32, and voila there you have it!

It seems to be because Memory Stick XC went vaporware. There was talk of larger memory cards beginning some 4 years ago now, that I don't think ever released.

$120 memory card. Not bad if you need the storage and have the scratch.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.
