Anywho, while DBZ is originally written in Japanese. I'm pretty sure realistically Frieza wouldn't be speaking Japanese.

But i'm sure there is a more logical explanation.

Something to do with formalities and whatnot.

I've heard people say "papa" and other stuff instead of the usual things you may hear in Japanese. I've never really wondered about it.

Japanese kids say papa and mama just like English speaking kids do and I'm sure as in other languages. My son calls me dada.

I don't even have to have the subtitles on to know what they're talking about and I only had 6 months of Japanese.

I almost think with all the underwear and porn jokes that children wrote the script.

I've never seen Chobits but I wouldn't be surprised if it was basic. Basic anime IS a good listening subject as long as they use normal Japanese. Something like Sazae-san is good for people wanting to learn.

I watch very few shows dubbed, Trigun, Lain, Cowboy Bebop (which I also watch subbed I can switch between the two and not care) and Hellsing I think that's pretty much it.
