I guess we are all war criminals now.

Well, it's rather brutal here. Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.

They do have a good point though, this stuff and war in general being shown in video games does make it seem more acceptable to kids. It's the exact same thing as torture being shown on every damn episode of 24.

If anyone believes that Call of Duty or Battlefield are "realistic" they need their head examined.

And while these things may desensitize people to the idea and the images on their TV screen, if you actually had a person witness these things in person they probably would be against it or atleast very uncomfortable.

...well, duh? The whole point is that the kids who play these games will never see that in person, so they will be desensitized. Just take a look at a forum full of energy drink swilling 13-year-olds whose worldviews have been shaped by CoD
And in part the whole unrealistic "BOOM HEADSHOT KILLSTREAK!!" aspect is what gets me. It makes war into a kind of fun little sport.

Most people I know who spends hours on these pointlessly violent war games are indeed desensitised and have little to no idea how much real war is not fun at all.

While the Red Cross is a useless organisation like most organisations, I think they get the point that these over violent games are nasty. They're just a reflection of people's interests and pulsions though, so I can understand why companies waste their creative effort into these garbage games.

War was better in ugly pixels, where you couldn't possibly show gorish details and bombs were 2x4 pixels.

Nah the problem is these war games look FAKE. Not at all a visual representation of military combat. Anyone desensitized because of them frankly needs commitment in an institution, due to their own inability to tell fact from fiction. Even "bloody" ones don't begin to resemble the **** horrors of IRL gibs.

Actually most AK's are built very well you can soke them in mud and they will keep shooting. The AK-47 is a very durable gun and mine has never jammed and I can attest to the fact that you can soak them in mud.

I'm going by something I saw on Deadliest warrior when an AK jammed on somebody. Unless I have it mixed up with another common assault rifle.

What the hell are you doing with an AK-47 anyway?

It's a neat gun , but seriously I got it from my father. It was a little souvenir he came back with after Vietnam. Then he recently gave it to me. ITs been clean really well except for the outer portion.

I hope it was registered and has a NFA tax stamp otherwise it is illegal. Also if it was registered I hope you dad transferred it and didn't just give it to you because that is illegal as well.

Illegal MG's are not a slap on the wrist. The penalties are up to 10 years.

It is no worries. Though the stamp can be high but, I cherish it ever so.

AK-47s which generally are actually AKMs are well known for their high reliability even when poorly maintained and tortured. But your point about how war video games leave out undesirable realistic factors, ofcourse they leave out things that would make the game less fun. Various things that happen in some of these war games obviously neglect reality. Just the way you shoot enemies and they magically recover health or just generally don't suffer consequences of being shot. Would it really be fun after being shot in the foot to be limping around? Or shot in your arm and unable to aim with that arm?

It's all just dumb entertainment with little resemblance to reality of than the objects within are real objects that exist. You can't take it seriously.
