3DS Firmware Update

The firmware update is out for 3DS and which it comes with demos. Can someone in the US/JP upload some of the demos which you can download? I wanna know if you can run US/JP Demos on a PAL unit. I know the games are region locked but I don't know if the demos are.

Demos that are in your Nintendo Store will run on your system. Otherwise the answer would be no. It's in the instruction manual.

I downloaded the update this morning, and I see no demos, nor do I see any 3D Video Camera update.

Am I looking in the wrong places, or has nintendo shafted the Latin American region?

While we're in the asking business, what's up with the GBA Ambassador Program games? Any news on those?

I just downloaded the update. The 3D video camera is built into the existing camera app. It works pretty well, but there's no getting over the fact that the 3DS's camera is crap. There are no demos, but there's something called "Nintendo Zone," which is apparently a service that allows you to access special content like videos, screenshots, and demos at certain locations (I'm guessing that means places like Gamestop, Best Buy, etc.)

As far as the GBA games, I got a notification a while ago that said they'll be released before the end of the year. It said that I'll get a notification when they become available. I think you have to opt-in for the notifications.

Video Camera is pretty cool "record your own 3D movies". The camera is crap we all know, but for the sake of recording in 3D is pretty cool, that's if you have good light though.

I also see no Demos either, I looked in the Nintendo Store as well and nothing... That's for the PAL update anyway.

- It adds features to Mii Plaza (puzzle,quest etc)

- System transfer features

- Video Recording

Apparently you can convert youtube and other "3D" videos to your 3ds and play them back in 3D, might be useful, http://gbatemp.net/topic/315337-conv...6#entry4007976

I updated my (PAL) 3DS and it immediately blue screened and is dead.

Should be a free repair, but can't say I'm too pleased about the reliability shown there.

I updated my 3DS (pal) there is no demos , the e-shop doesn't change !

I'm not surprised there's no demos. I got this email in a reply from big N., about a week back, before the update:

Dear customer,

The game demos that you see in retails shops are provided on special cartridges similar to those used for full retail games. There are currently no plans to release these via the Nintendo eShop this could however this could very well change in the future.

We hope that you continue to enjoy your 3DS console.

Besides, they've put them selves in a bad position to digitally distribute demos, manufacturing hundreds of demo cartridges. If they did digitally distribute demos, all the money went into manufacturing the demo carts would go down the drain:banghead:. But they should have thought about it a bit more before making all those demo carts.
