Thread: Resident Evil GBC Fundraiser thread - 2 builds! (GOAL MET)

1. #381
Much like the control room key (where YOU CAN ENTER it without using the memory viewer), the eagle medal spot needs to be in a certain spot to use it. Currently exploring the lab, stuck on entering a log-on because it's H, O, or V...

I'm not sure if the "wrong checksum" is an issue, but it was noticed when dumping. Another attempt at dumping gave the same result.
The GB-BIOS does not care about the global checksum. While every licensed release uses a correct checksum a prototype can easily ignore that. I checked both dumps and there is no issue because there is no expected checksum stored in the header at all, just 0000.

Huge thanks for this release and to everyone involved!

Gambatte is the most accurated Gameboy emulator (Spanish emulator ^_^)

But Mednafen core is a highly modificated VBA code, it doesnt give me problems

I use Mednafen for all platforms supported except SNES (bSNES for obvious reasons), Genesis (RetroCopy, only near cycle accurate GEN emulator) and PSX (Xebra is, after Sony's Popstation, BY FAR the most accurated PSX emulator ever)

It's great to see everyone is enjoying the release. It never ceases to amaze me what the power of the community, and in particular this forum, can acheive when we all ralley together!

The article over at retro collect is a fantastic response after all the negative comments that occured after the Joystiq article was released.

If anyone has any questions that I haven't already answered then please ask them in this thread, my PM inbox is overflowing and I am trying to keep it clean for the migration!

Also, thanks for everyone giving me rep for this; my scores doubled overnight! hahaha.

Well, I ran in troubles:

(Cart 1 Jill's)

Couldn't get the crank on top of the shelf (used cheat)
Couldn't get Dormitory 003 key on that Storage Room on the fish tank (used cheat)

Couldn't use the Red Book on the shelf to move the drawer out of the way of the door. I managed to erase the bookshelf (by switching enemy 1 address to value 98), but it doesn't open the door to Plant 42. I'm stuck.

Other than those cheats, I played normally from the beggining to the end, no cheats. Any ideas?

I didn't have trouble doing either of those two things. Mind your positioning, I guess.

To get to Plant 47 room, change RAM value C17C to 56. But where's the key? The key who was supposed to be with the "fire log" (sorry can't remember the english word) isn't there. Which key it was? I'm going to use a cheat to get it, but I don't know which key it is.

Helmet key

The key is in the fireplace, make sure you position yourself correctly, it's the biggest issue with this game. I got to the helipad, I saved Chris, but like it's said, no programmed endings. I enjoyed this game a lot. You will need to use the memory hack to get into the autopsy room for MO Disk machine #2.

Oh thanks a lot! I'm doing a full playthrough of it, I'm in the Midget Enrico Marini part. Lol at his size.

Haha, I'm surprised at the amount of 'cutscenes in this game'. Wesker doesn't show up by the tyrant tank by the way, there is a switch in there so make sure to hit it. This game would have been one of my favorites if it was released. I got to try cartridge 2 and see if anything is a lot different. How do I insert spaces in my posts? I know it's like

or something like that.

Yeah, it's really picky. I had issues just trying to pick a Green Herb up off the floor. At least I found a typewriter so I'm happy. But, am I able to pick locked doors? I got Jill the lock picking tools, and I returned to the hall from the first part (Where in the PSX version, all doors are locked) and I can't use any of them.

Haha, the character positioning in the space is MUCH (i mean much) worse in Resident Evil 2 for Gamecom, some objects of the game needs to run around in order to pick them up (I have a full playthrough in my channel). After beating this game, this one feels like a childs game

What is the value for the Autopsy Room? I'm stuck at that ladder puzzle.

I don't think there's a value as it's still part of the other room. What I did was go back to the area where you walk down the stairs in the lab, go straight from where you walked down so the camera angle changes, then change the digit to 60. If you do it right, you'll end up in the autopsy room. There's probably an easier way but that's what I did. Something like that anyways.
