what does this exploit do? after reading the page i dont quite understand is it a form of jailbreak style exploit? or does it allow you to do dev\debugging on a retail ps3 console?
So it was Mathieulh's exploit that got leaked? Hasn't Mathieulh already released a bunch of "exploits" that in the end pretty much did nothing? QA flagging comes to mind. Not trying to diss him or anything, but haven't we done this dance before?
I thought we were supposed to have a new CFW months ago. After all, everyone said the original exploit was unpatchable and Sony would never be able to fix it. Look where we are now...
If this exploit does lead to something, then cool. Call me a pessimist, but I get the feeling it won't. Fool me once...
So what exactly does this exploit lead to? Well it can pretty much lead to hacks like Dark_Alex did many moons ago with the PSP as quoted from your site. That would please a lot of people especially if it is as easy as hacking the psp. PS2 emulation on the PS3 would be the biggest reason to why many people would want to do this as well as running Linux etc and homebrew.
oh and piracy. I'm sure he's doing the right thing by staying clear of this, the legal implications would be devastating.

The only credible sites for this are ps3 hacking sites, and I don't know if it's against the rules to post links to those kinds of sites. If you want to find credible sites, just Google "metldr exploit leaked". It should be what you're looking for.
Or you could've just went to HeXiGON's blog, scrolled down, and clicked on the sources he listed. He even gave a link to the original site where Mathieulh posted his explanation for the leaked exploit. HeXiGON did everything right, so I don't know what the issue is.

I think what the problem was/is that I've been posting stories that are all on my blog and not here. Other users do this as well, and didn't see any rules regarding this so I went ahead. I try to stick to the rules as close as possible so I don't create problems for Kev or the other staff on the boards.
If I've made a wrong move by all means let me know, I've only made 2 posts this month regarding my blog. Like I said before I'm forcing NO ONE to read it.
Question, why have I never installed a Mathieulh created hack on any of my PlayStation devices??

Honestly, you can not doubt his abilities or what he does. He just does it in private and I know this first hand.
There is so much hate for him, because he does not share with all the kiddies wanting pirated games who feel they have some sort of right to any work anyone else does.

I have seen first hand the work he does and the things he has access to. But, I respect his right to privacy/secrecy unlike the people who leaked this.
My questions answered what you asked. You ask why you have not installed anything by him - because he does not want to be sued and therefore not releasing things and because of that people hate on him - even more reason not to release.
The rest was just sticking up for someone I KNOW is getting rough treatment because he is not sharing HIS OWN toys. Also, I do not need to answer "what I have seen" - I do not care if you believe me or not.
People hating are just on a bandwagon and have no idea what he's done. Whether no one knowing what he's done is his own doing or not is irrelevant and is HIS CHOICE. No one has a right to what he's done, regardless of how much they want/need it.
Oh and the "You cant really doubt his work" was a collective you, not you specifically.
