    Everdrive64 problem

    Hello everyone,
Just received my ED64. I installed a CIC7101 from a PAL cart and have been trying to test the card.
Without a SD card installed I get the following. See picture.
I create the ED64 folder and copy over the OS64.v64 file from Krikzz's site and I get nothing. Just a blank screen.
    I have tried 4 different SD cards. 2 x 16GB, 1 x 8GB and 1 x 4GB
I have tried os's 1.02, 1.11 and 1.12 and still the same results.

Its strange as the ED64 bootloader screen actually says FW 1.12 and CIC: 6102 when I have installed a 7101CIC Is this normal?

Any advise on this one guys?

Did you use the PAL version of the OS files? There is a NTSC and PAL version of the file.

Tried both. Obviously I tried the PAL version first as I am in PAL land.
The earlier OS versions only have a single OS. I tried those as well with the same results.

Another thing I noticed is one of the chips is getting incredibly hot. I think its a memory chip
See the chip circled in red

This might be a dumb question, but are you sure you have the cart in the right way around?

If I did have the cart in the wrong way it would not show the initial bootloader screen.
I have the cart in the correct way.
I have just tested it with my NTSC console and replace the 7107 CIC with a 6102 CIC and exactly the same problem. Bootloader appears but blank screen when using a SD card

It`s an SDRAM chip used for ROM game storage, I think

SDRAM chip should not be hot. bootloader loads OS code into SDRAM, but looks like something wrong with sdr chip on yours board and OS can not be loaded.
sad to say, but probably you should send cart to me
I looking for genesis 2 with motherboard VA2

Oddly enough I had this same problem (not the hot cart bit) until I formatted the card to FAT32. After that it worked fine! :)
I did name the card 'ED64' at first, until I realised it was causing some issues ;)
