Coming to an App store near to you soon! or not as the case may be.

Won't be updating due to it still being a worse option than a jailbroken 4.2 iPhone. Still n flash, still no tethering, still stupid video formats, same boring old home screen, same locked down system.
I would like to upgrade because there are a few apps I'd like but what I would loose easily out weighs what I would gain.
Yakumo
PS: bfore anyone says anything, a jailbreak isn't for running pirate apps ( if there is such a thing). It's to open the platform to make it more flexable to the user.
I upgraded a few days ago and I have enjoyed all of the improvements so far. I really enjoy the custom vibrations, so when I am in meetings I can tell who calls without having to check my phone. I really want to jailbreak but I have held back since I had such a bad experience with my 3g and the constant crashing.
Just getting to grips with the custom vibrations.
BTW this inst on a jailbroken phone. Im on 5.0 GM I just restored using the ios firmware.
Yak,
Yeh its well locked down but I don't mind that when the app work so well. Android phones seem unpolished and not as fluid. Plus the build on most Android seem well a bit naff. I used to run a Jail broken 3Gs it was the same unpolished apps that liked to crash.

My wife wants a smart phone so I'll likely give her my 4, buy a 4S, and pray it's unlocked soon!
Not sure what its like over where you are but here 02 were unlock iphones if you had a contract. The did my iPhone 4 even when I was on a 30 day contract.
I still want a 4S..

Been running the Beta for a few months now. Absolutely love it. iCloud is fantastic too.
iTunes Match however is even better!

It's alright. I could live without the small changes but whatever. The ability to sync wirelessly is what drew me in, although I feel cheated. I didn't mean iCloud syncing when I wanted to sync wirelessly - I want to sync to my OWN computer, wirelessly :( EDIT: oops, nevermind, I found that setting:)
Overall I'm as happy, no hitches, it even managed to backup my manually added music without any issues and it restored everything just as it was - phew.

You can ask for any old woman
You can ask for an army of ants
You can ask for a pillar of poison
You can ask for sheep and shavers
And you can die for
Be careful what you wish for
is it a 3200 error?

You updated to iTunes 10.5? It is a requirement.
Updated to it a week ago, like every major release, it drains more battery.. =/
But it runs even smoother and faster than iOS 4 and has some really cool features. (running on 3GS)
I had higher hopes for notification center but it doesn't add much. What good is a pull down menu when i've already unlocked the phone. I'd hoped we'd get the pull down notifications and weather and the like from the actual lock screen so i don't have to unlock my phone. custom text tones at long last and safari seems to be quicker/smoother. All in all a descent update but not the promised mind blowing world changer. Now if Siri was included in IOS5 rather then 4S exclusive it might have been better.
