Probably the shock of the iPhone 4s. Joking aside, this is probably going to upset millions of Apple fan boys and could see the fall of the Apple empire. Then again, the release of the iPhone 4s will probably see to that. Android may not have as many apps but the phones are sure a hell of a lot better these days.

Still, it's sad to see anyone pass away. R.I.P. Steve Jobs :crying:

Interested to see where the company goes. Sucks that he died so young -- 56 by my count. His successor has a huge shoes to fill. I think the name recognition can survive without him, but despite the fact that the 4S might actually be a worthy upgrade (nobody fucking knows yet) a 5 with a new design and features that admittedly might not mean shit would have been better, clearly.

I thought this would happen before the year was over. A power hungry person like Jobs doesn't retire unless the end is nigh. Can't say I was a big fan of him seeing how I don't like his personality, but he did help shape the industry to some degree. R.I.P.

Never liked Steve Jobs, He was rude to college interns I've been told and his one contribution while at Atari was breakout which while he took all the credit it was the Woz who did all the work.

True, to an extent. All I have to do is start thinking about how to make something cheaper while allowing me to be lazier and I can imagine products that would sell like hotcakes. Sounds extremely misanthrope but it seems to be reality.

The man was like a lawyer, you were happy to have him because he was the best at what he did, you didn't mind his products because they were polished, and you didn't mind him dating your daughter because goddamn he was rich. If anyone doesn't like Apple products for whatever reason, that's fine. But saying that they are bad products is just outright wrong because they are not. And saying that "Steve Jobs is an asshole" is not only extremely immature, it also shows that you clearly have not the slightest idea who Steve Jobs actually is. You're just bashing a company, why do you do that?

That man was more than the CEO of Apple and the face of the company. His resume and the products he created during his time as Apple's CEO are revolutionary. The Desktop as well as the iPhone. I don't know about you, but cell phones sucked before smartphones were introduced, I hated them. And it's not only a random CEO who happened to have died, he was a symbol for innovation, risktaking and success to many in the industry and beyond. Along with the people like Bill Gates, he was one of the very few that served as an inspiration for today's and future inventors, college grads and businessmen.

Steve started critiquing the layout on a purely esthetic basis. "That part's really pretty", he proclaimed. "But look at the memory chips. That's ugly. The lines are too close together".

Apple's other co-founder, Steve Jobs, didn't agree with Jef about many things, but they both felt the same way about hardware expandability: it was a bug instead of a feature. Steve was reportedly against having slots in the Apple II back in the days of yore, and felt even stronger about slots for the Mac.

But once again, Steve Jobs objected, because he didn't like the idea of customers mucking with the innards of their computer. He would also rather have them buy a new 512K Mac instead of them buying more RAM from a third-party.

Still deserves respect to the extent that he was a genius at convincing people to buy Apple's shiny crap as opposed to someone else's shiny crap. For that I must applaud his manipulation of humanity.
