Well, it's rather brutal here. Right now we are advising all our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns.

Probably the shock of the iPhone 4s. Joking aside, this is probably going to upset millions of Apple fan boys and could see the fall of the Apple empire. Then again, the release of the iPhone 4s will probably see to that. Android may not have as many apps but the phones are sure a hell of a lot better these days.
Still, it's sad to see anyone pass away. R.I.P. Steve Jobs :crying:
I'd be hoping that with him gone, Apple will soon collapse and disapper, but it's too late for that. They already fucked up the entire phone industry. Can't buy a goddamn decent midrange phone now, only either $10 cant-do-crap phones, or iphone lookalikes with touchscreens everywhere.

Interested to see where the company goes. Sucks that he died so young -- 56 by my count. His successor has a huge shoes to fill. I think the name recognition can survive without him, but despite the fact that the 4S might actually be a worthy upgrade (nobody fucking knows yet) a 5 with a new design and features that admittedly might not mean shit would have been better, clearly.
Truly shocking news. R.I.P Steve. You will be missed.
Not a surprise by any stretch but it still sucks. I too am curious to see how Apple fares in the meantime
Saw a photo of him supposedly taken after he left the company... was nothing but a walking skeleton...
I thought this would happen before the year was over. A power hungry person like Jobs doesn't retire unless the end is nigh. Can't say I was a big fan of him seeing how I don't like his personality, but he did help shape the industry to some degree. R.I.P.
Never liked Steve Jobs, He was rude to college interns I've been told and his one contribution while at Atari was breakout which while he took all the credit it was the Woz who did all the work.
Still to those that saw him as a friend and Collgue and not the Asshole (or as I called him iDouche) it is still a sad day. FOR THEM
For me whatever.
Still quite a week for me Steve Jobs dies, Anthony Bourdain acknowledged me on Twitter and I saw BILL FUCKING COSBY SPEAK!
Yeah, that's a trait unique to him only. O_o
Well, the guy took a company bottom of the stack to most wealthy in the world based on aesthetics... most of the time for what I considered vastly inferior products until about the end of the XP life cycle.I do know Jobs was an asshole and I cite this primary source document as evidence:
We're internet nerds. We dont' mind ugly. We want functional... wacky shit . Fuck, half the people here would rather have low-res CRTs than flat screens. Face it, collectively we have no clue what the public wants. We'd be terrible at his job. I know I would... that's why I've never bothered to learn X-Code and build an app. He was great at wrapping products and making them appealing.

True, to an extent. All I have to do is start thinking about how to make something cheaper while allowing me to be lazier and I can imagine products that would sell like hotcakes. Sounds extremely misanthrope but it seems to be reality.
The man was like a lawyer, you were happy to have him because he was the best at what he did, you didn't mind his products because they were polished, and you didn't mind him dating your daughter because goddamn he was rich. But to actually tolerate his presence at a meal you needed to be shitfaced.

Om Mani Padme Hum
Come on, people... even if you don't like him or his products, he was still a human being and now he's dead. Show some respect.
And you're an inconsiderate idiot. Sorry to tell you this but other than that claim of yours, mine is based on evidence that can be found in thread.
Do you know Steve Jobs personally? No? So how can you tell that he's an asshole?
You can't.
Do you know Steve Jobs as an entrepreneur and inventor? Yes? So how can you tell that he's an asshole?
If anyone doesn't like Apple products for whatever reason, that's fine. But saying that they are bad products is just outright wrong because they are not. And saying that "Steve Jobs is an asshole" is not only extremely immature, it also shows that you clearly have not the slightest idea who Steve Jobs actually is. You're just bashing a company, why do you do that?
That man was more than the CEO of Apple and the face of the company. His resume and the products he created during his time as Apple's CEO are revolutionary. The Desktop as well as the iPhone. I don't know about you, but cell phones sucked before smartphones were introduced, I hated them. And it's not only a random CEO who happened to have died, he was a symbol for innovation, risktaking and success to many in the industry and beyond. Along with the people like Bill Gates, he was one of the very few that served as an inspiration for today's and future inventors, college grads and businessmen.
Please refrain in future from those stupid comments. I think you're 30 years old, right? Sorry to point this out, but that's just embarassing to read.

<- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?
How do you know Genghis Khan was a bad guy? Did you meet him personally? Fallacious argument is fallacious and I'll have to ask you to refrain from using them in the future.

Steve started critiquing the layout on a purely esthetic basis. "That part's really pretty", he proclaimed. "But look at the memory chips. That's ugly. The lines are too close together".And: http://www.folklore.org/StoryView.py...&detail=mediumSo we invested another $5,000 or so to make a few boards with a new layout that routed the memory bus in a Steve-approved fashion. But sure enough, the new boards didn't work properly, as Burrell had predicted, so we switched back to the old design for the next run of prototypes.
Apple's other co-founder, Steve Jobs, didn't agree with Jef about many things, but they both felt the same way about hardware expandability: it was a bug instead of a feature. Steve was reportedly against having slots in the Apple II back in the days of yore, and felt even stronger about slots for the Mac.Still deserves respect to the extent that he was a genius at convincing people to buy Apple's shiny crap as opposed to someone else's shiny crap. For that I must applaud his manipulation of humanity. I won't piss on his grave but I sure as hell can't celebrate him as some sort of demi-god like a lot of people are.But once again, Steve Jobs objected, because he didn't like the idea of customers mucking with the innards of their computer. He would also rather have them buy a new 512K Mac instead of them buying more RAM from a third-party.

I can't believe that he is dead, for me it was one of the more visionary people of all, without Steve, Im sure that we are not speaking of anything in this page.
