Crash Bandicoot was so great when Naughty Dog developed it. It's such a shame that a great series got destroyed...

Interesting, your beta appears to be the same one that DRX has. The only apparent difference being that the loading screen on his is missing the letter 'L'.

You can rip the beta from DEMO 1. I just have not managed too yet as SCEE added code to blank out the boot code for it (I think). If you manage to remove that, then it would be a bootable .exe.
I have contacted them both several times.

I remember seeing the Crash 1 DEMO on European Demo 1. It is hidden, and you need some PS extraction tools to dump it from the CD-ROM.
It may even be on some other demo 1 disc's too! lol
Apart from that, it is managing to then remove the code that tells it to not boot. At least, that is what I think SCEE did at the last minute.

Yes but even if it was it is still an executable that gets executed by the PlayStation. We wont know for sure until someone manages to rip that .exe from the demo 1 disc. It also had a Tekken 2 demo on it, that crashes after the NAMCO logo, as well as a Destruction Derby demo.
These are all hidden...
