Well since I'm among those who don't much like western games, that isn't much surprise to my kind. Something more anime styled could be of interest. US Puyo Pop Fever maybe. I guess True Fantasy Live Online or something...

Nobody seems interested (at all) in xbox titles around here, which is a shame because it's a great little machine - it seems that no one really cares about preserving them either.

If this fund raiser had actually gone well - you know a few dollars here, a few dollars there, like most fund raisers around here - then we 'might' have had a chance of doing the same for 'Made Man' and 'Emergency Mayhem' - but I get the feeling that will never happen now.

I'm genuinely surprised at the (almost) complete lack of interest.
The thing that surprises me the most is that I've had multiple people over the years clamoring for my Alpha kit, or the games on it, and yet here we are, how many months later, waiting for just 30$, after I cut the price by a bunch in the interest of getting it out there. I would gladly release almost everything I own, but if we can't raise around 200$ for two of the more important games out there for the Xbox, it's pretty sad really. These titles could prove to be extremely valuable for emulation, since they are closer to a PC than any other builds that are going to be out there. They aren't just 'normal' debug builds of these games, I would never waste my time on such a thing.

Forgive my ignorance, but will they work on a Xbox Debug Kit?

I think the main reason the auction hasn't attracted more attention is that you can't actually play them on anything other than an alpha kit which is a bit of a rare find for the average joe like me. People don't like to throw there money at something they know they will never be able to use.

It's one of those things where if you want to be able to play them, ever, they have to be out there for people to play. These games offer a look at an important part of Xbox history, when it was literally a modified PC tower. Sure, early code only runs on these, but it also means that there is a chance of it being quite useful to emulation, especially when you factor in the .EXE files that are included, missing libraries or not. If people are truly worried about preservation, which most say they are, they would realize that these games are extremely important in gaming history, since there aren't many people out there who will give these away, let alone many that survived in the first place. I've donated to many games that I have no intention of playing.

I think another reason for little interest was because they would need donate to these games, then to the A.I the circuit. And these games were mostly forgotten by the people

Yeah, but the money would have never been raised, then you'd have nothing. And in the scheme of things, I believe Dark Summit will prove to be the most useful out of all of them.

And thanks Rundevil, every bit counts. We're close now.

I would love to see as much as posible released, or shared under a few people. If it cost a bit or much moneys... help them out. So if I find something interesting or sounds awesome I pay happy, because DLC is almost the same, it can be lost forever, or out of my reach.
So I hope this is good to go and will watch more Xbox things (And some MSX, PC, DC and PS once in a while).
Hows your Xbox doing where this al was stored on? still on sale?

Ill be holding onto the Xbox for a while. Not worth selling it, and I no longer -need- the money.

I take more precautions now than I ever did when it comes to backing things up. It's in about as good of hands as humanly possible anyway.

Looks like the new kid is the hero.
You should have the final $10.
