Civilization V Dx11 mode has no menu options and refuses to fullscreen

Google spat out useless fixes for a different problem, the usual suspects didn't work and the .ini resets with each use.

Basically the game works fine with the DirectX 9 launcher but is in windowed mode with no menu options selectable in DirectX 11.

    Anyone had this problem?

Update drivers, update DirectX? I'd then try setting the settings manually in it's config files and marking it read only.

If that doesn't work a new video card might be in order depending on how old your current one is.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.

done done and done before posting but no joy :( My GTX 560 Ti only launched this year and I've only owned it for a few weeks. Had no problems until this :(

I'd have to assume my last suggestion, patching/downgrading the game, has already been attempted then.

Try uninstalling it, and re-installing it.

Can't downgrade, steam won't let me (auto update). Reinstalling didn't help, though if I verify cache the DX11 executable always needs replacing =/

Just as a FYI I managed to solve this problem.

I was originally using resolutions in the 720p and 1080i categories. When I set my desktop display to 1280 x 768 in the PC category all my problems for this game and others were solved.
