Getting a SFC suggest me a few games :)

    Hi there,

I just got a nice Super Famicom which I plan to use with a Super Everdrive. Back in the day I never owned a SNES/SFC, and while I am aware of most well known titles I have absolutely no idea of which are the 'hidden gems'.

I was wondering if you guys could say, mention, in your opinion what you think are the best 3 (hidden/less known US or Japanese) games in each of the following categories.

RPG/SRPG (Released in English or patch translated)
    Shooter
    Platformer
    Puzzle
    Other (?)

    Thanks :)

RPG/SRPG >> chrono trigger-not a hidden gem but simply the best rpg on the system.
    Shooter >> kiki kaikai
    Platformer >> magical pop`n & umihara kawase
    Puzzle >> sutte hakkun
Other >> turtles in time

IMO there are 3 really good rpgs on the snes: earthbound, FF6 and chrono trigger but CT beats them all.

RPG/SRPG -> Bahamut Lagoon, Rudra no Hihou
    Shooter -> Super Aleste
Puzzle -> Super Puyo Puyo 2

...are those that first came to mind reading "SFC" and the genres. Of course, plus a host of other, more well-known or well-loved games (Chrono Trigger, etc.)

If you like Strategy games give SD Gundam X a try. If you like a strategy RPG, try Der Langrisser. For an action/platformer try Majou Ou aka King of Demons. Another odd game to try out would be Umihara Kawase. I haven't played much of it but it has interesting gameplay from what I saw.

Another good platformer/beat em up I recommend checking out is BS Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero.
