No thoughts about the alphabetical order-problem?

it is not a bug. string sorted only by two first chars for optimise speed

Oh wow. That explains a lot. I never really minded much. I know the Megadrive everdrive also does that to a few games. I guess it would become a problem if you have the whole SNES library backed up on the thing but I only have the games I own and a few translations.

Same here. Thanks that explains it. Funny though that the alphabetical order was correct before the update.

OK so after I update, all games in my "S" directory that begin with "Super ____" will be in random order? We all know how many "super" games there are...

The Super EverDrive does not have a FPGA and uses the SNES's processor to do the grunt work. The SNES's processor is pretty dang slow. Sorting things alphabetically seems like a simple task, but it really isn't. Especially when you are talking about very long file names such as these with up to 200 files per directory.

Fair enough, but eveything is in the correct order with current OS (v6 i believe). Is it a matter of placing them on the sd card in the right order (one-by-one)?

if first two symbols is same, then you will see files in same order as they placed in FAT. so if you will copy them one by one in alphabetic order then they will be shown in same order in the cart's menu

Just use that drivesort application, sorts the files on your card.

Hello all, i have just ordered my first Everdrive, the Super Everdrive ;)

I understand that the SE now supports SDHC cards with os.v11, as I only have a 4gb SDHC card will I be ok to update the OS to v11 from that ok or will the Everdrive not be able to read it as it is a SDHC??

If thats the case would I need a 2gb sd card to update OS and then use the 4gb card once its running os.v11??

    Sorry for the n00b question.

    Thanks

I think that you will need a 2Gb card to update. I see no other way to update the card. If you don't know anyone who has one that you can borrow, you could always buy one from a shop that have a ''no question ask return policy'', and take it back after you're done.

Thanks for the response, not what I was hoping to hear

Would it be sufficient to partition a SDHC card with only a 1 GB FAT16 partition? SDHC card should be backward compatible with standard SD init and cmd protocols if not using high capacity?

Might you have a small SD card lurking around somewhere? I know I have a 128MB SD card somewhere that came bundled with my camera, and its literally only a few dollars to buy these small SD cards on ebay. Even the 3DS includes a 2GB SD card.

No longer required, so it was removed. Just format on a PC now.
