I haven't seen the rebranded Evangelion movies yet (I won't until it is finished) but from what I have heard there are some significant differences and not just a rehash in movie form.

Good to know.

A buddy just told me to watch anything related to Evangelion in the order in which they were released. So that's probably what I'll end up doing.
