ye, of cause. also i've checked other heads :

spu3200
hop-a1
sf-151
prx-550
kss-576 (need Track/Focus adjusment)

most of them from 40-52x pc cd-rom drives

BUT! all of them can read only CD not original GD.

FG - do you know last news about dknute (deunan) project? does his board work well? is there any docs, infos or source. i just start do the same for DC. and can continue from any point. it better then stars from almost zero))

cybdyn, how did you connect the entire pc laser asembly to dreamcast?
In my case the motor that spins the disc has 13 pins and the motor that moves the laser has 4 pins. How do i connect these 2 motors to dreamcast? Also the dreamcast laser has a switch but the pc one doesn't have one.

2gorgyrip: y need use LG native board for this 3x phase motor. its for easy way.
i cant work with second motor - its 2x phase step mootor, so i used original mechanism from DC drive...

also i plan make gd-emu for dreamcast, it can play games from SD/HDD/ CD-DVD DRIVES. so i stop research in the way of 3x phase motors and laser head from PC...

its sad when it need start from the almost beggining. but i plan do making dc-emu in the same way as PSIO ))
