I meant rgb to VGA(or cga to VGA?) rather than scart to VGA. As far as the "sync strike" goes...I am following the tut on the site linked to so I don't really know what else to call it. I understand there is no real scart to VGA connection but it seems as though the author is basically adding a scart connection to the converter through VGA in. I am pretty sure I have seen some sort of scart to VGA cable on eBay....not sure what it would be used for but then again I am not sure of many things :)

actually you dont need the scart connector at all
there is a header above the input VGA
and the scaler comes with a connector for that header
and you just solder your wires to it
no real need to deal with the big honking scart connector
if you dont feel like sacrificing a real scart connector for actual tv game play
then you could splice wire into the existing wires
so you can ether use real scart or use the RGB input header
i still believe youll need the sync strike ether way
if you add in a scart connector to the scaler
or use the RGB header on the scaler
