I bought this thing many years ago from a seller in japan. Its a "Famitsu Model-F Gameboy Pocket, Limited Edition"... From what I was told, these were only availible by winning a contest that famitsu was running many years ago. I have searched high and low all over the internet and there isnt a scrap of information about this thing. I found one site that just had a picture of it among other rare gameboys, but it didnt have any descriptions or anything. This thing is EMACULATE.. Absolutly mint... Its never been touched by human hands outside of the factory. I took it out for the first time in 3 years today just to photograph it. I apologize for the poor quility, cheap 1.0 mpixel camera..
I keep the unit inside of this plastic bag, as well as wrapped with newspaper outside of that, then put inside of a cardboard box that stays in my closet.
This is the box opened,... notice all of the little slips and books still intact, and pristene..
Here is the unit itself. The unit has NEVER left the clear plastic baggy its in. Also notice that the original batteries are still there. (should I be worried about leakage?)
You can really make it out, but on the box itself is some classic engrish... "The spirit of want to make".... People have told me that having bad engrish on the box of a Nintendo product increases the rarity. I dunno about that....
anyways,.... what do you guys think about this?? Have you seen one, or one like it before? What are they worth? Ive been trying to find the value of this thing for some time,.... I cant locate another one for sale anywhere though, so I havent the slightest clue...
