    Just an FYI we Canucks are usually paying more then $100 for the same high end item in US, not to say we don't have the odd deal here and there but.

    Also Canada and the US measure screens differently, we measure by the screen size not the frame whereas the US measures the frame size i.e. the plastic holding the screen.

    I could be mistaken and the opposite could be true, we measure frames not screens but it still applies.

    I think it's right like you said it, in Canada screens are sometimes being advertised as 49,5" (when they're a 50in model).

    We ended up buying an LG 50PV450 btw (for 845$ incl. taxes).
    <- can someone please make this as a repro and sell it so me?

    uhh...

    no. America, Japan, Europe, and Canada ALL measure screen size. Not frame.

    sometimes you get 49.5 advertised as 50" because it's close enough.

    thats why lots of sites state it's a "50" class TV", that counts 49"-50". so like 49.5 or 49.75
