Anyone remember the second Resident Evil 4 trailer before the big change to the Resident Evil 4 we all know now? The one with all the supernatural creatures, flashlight,... Apparantly there's in-game footage of this built available, right here:

I don't keep track of Resident Evil games, but unreleased/changed games are always exciting to me :).

RE4 was initially planned for PlayStation 2, the project later changed into Devil May Cry.
I know about the trailers/screenshots and such (now, anyway), but Devil May Cry evolved from what was supposed to be Resident Evil 4. Or something like that... :-D
I always thought Devil MAy Cry was just a Castlevania-esque rip-off with guns made by capcom. I've never heard any actual news saying it was originally Resident Evil 4. No official news, that is.
I've heard some fanboy ravings about such things....but I tended to ignore that as they never had proof. (not saying you guys are wrong, just I have never seen such information from capcom)

I love Devil May Cry, but you are right in the sense that it's just Castlevania with guns :). I've never heard any official news of it being RE4 originally, it was something I read out of GMR (which wouldn't be the first time they did something wrong). I've read about this in a few other places though, so it's either a well spread myth or it has some basis in fact somewhere.
yeah, The initial project of RE4, wich was years ago, turned into DMC. I never played any RE of my life, so you can't say that i'm a RE fanboy. Found the info on alot of places.

I think it looks like a Resident Evil/Silent Hill crossbreed....probably why they changed the gameplay style (AFAIK, my RE4 hasn't arrived yet)

-Capcom started Resident Evil 4
-Resident Evil 4 sucked
-Capcom changed it to Devil May Cry
-Devil May Cry also sucked, but as there were no prior fans, this was not -an issue
-Resident Evil continued unsullied
-Devil May Cry series emerges as a theraputic dumping ground for shitty, cliched games.
