    Good game shops in Singapore?

I'm off to singapore next week, does anyone know of any good shops for retro games/systems?

Main areas of interest are SMS,MD,NES,SNES,NAOMI and MVS but I'm not overly picky. Grateful for any pointers...

I spent two weeks there, and I can't remember seeing anything off the top of my head...

    Where are you staying?

I also visited Singapore a few years back and found nothing in the way of good game shops. The only game shops I found were selling normal games and what made it wose was all the packing was western style! I was looking for cool crazy Asian packing pirates but found nothing apart from a few boring N64 pad and PSX famiclones that you can buy anywhere.

I found a good shop a few years back next to sim lim tower. It had lots of retro stuff, collectables and some under the counter devices (R4) etc. I can't give you exact directions or a name, but I will take a look on google maps and update if I find it.
It was small, but really good.

Other than that sim lim itself has a few dotted around and is well worth a visit for the sheer geekiness of all those electronics stores of every type all in one building. Great place to buy camera gear, laptops, NASs and every conceivable USB gadget you can imagine. I also love the way the shops get more specialized the higher up you get.

I got my psp and my DS on different trips there when they had both launched in Japan.

On Jalan besar street between Sim Lim Square and Sim Lim Tower is where you'll find "Seow choon games specialist pte". This is the place.

Sim lim square is where you should go to geek out in the camera, electronics and computer stores (it's a building that has lots of floors and an open center with all the shops dotted around the edge).

Enjoy and let us know how you get on. BTW you may find the place shut for the day when you go, opening times in Singapore can be a bit odd. Be prepared to try again a following day.

Just jump in a cab and ask for sim lim square and you'll be there in a flash. Just stay away from Orchard Towers... ;)

To be honest - I don't remember, it's been at the least 3 years since I last went there. I don't think they were too unreasonable. But the stuff was all very collectable stuff in good condition. They also had a huge pile of xbox 1s that they were obviously modding - I chuckled when I saw that.

I was also in the market for an R4 at the time and asked them if the had one - they were a little uneasy (not surprising in a country with such tough laws) but once we chatted about retro gaming they felt more comfortable and I guess didn't assume I may be a representative of some kind of authority or company somewhere...
