Removing stickers and ink marks off boxes

I have a megadrive box I want to clean up a bit more, but there are small marker ink marks on the box on each side. What's the easiest way to get those marks off?

For ink you can use methylated spirits and a cotton bud, for stickers try soaking them in zippo lighter fluid, it dissolves the adhesive but doesn't damage the box at all.

On the label or on the plastic that covers the label. If its on the plastic then spray window cleaner/rubbing alcohol on it and pick at the corners with razor blades to lift the sticker. If its on the label get a can of servisol.

Remember it's on a box! Not a case.

Would a bit of metho work? Or will it burn or remove the box layers?

i'll try with WD40 on another box to see what it does, i've used it on a old sinclair 2068 to remove goo, with rubbing alcohol the serigraph tends to blur but wd40 did the job

I've got a can of "Tableau" brand sticky label remover. Clouded the fuck out of a PSX case, but worked a charm on a PS2 box. Wouldn't trust it with anything valuable. Smells nice though.

Sorry to be a bit late to the party here but I always use lighter fluid for pen marks and sticky labels on plastic cases, works a treat. But if you plan to work with open flames after using it wash your hands first. Lit up my hand like a christmas tree once....

The best think for removing sticker residue from anything is "Goo-Gone", hands down the greatest. Has helped me with many EB game purchases. ;-)
& even delicate things like a sticker over the label stickers of SNES cartridges!

Not only are you late, but your suggestion has been mentioned. + my hand was not meant to be a Christmas tree. =]

Wow, I feel stupid, well then there's always writing over it with a drywipe marker then rubbing it off, works a charm on discs, and worked ok on a couple of manuals, I think you can also use a permanent marker as long as you rub it off before it dries but don't hold me to that one it might be rubbish

It's quite acidic I think. Could damage a box.

Man, those fucking price stickers, I swear there's no way to get some of them off without leaving that glue crap behind. Anyone know a good way to get them off, especially when they're on cardboard boxes? And I'm in Europe and pretty sure Goo Gone is an American brand, so no suggestions for that.

I think the only way toothpaste will remove a non-water-based marker is by removing material because it is abrasive. We don't want to remove any of the box, we want to dissolve the bad stuff without harming the good stuff.

    I hear GooGone is awesome.

I have used lighter fluid before but very very carefully. Depending on what the box is made of and how it is printed, it may be really easy to ruin it.
