Well I think the custom cover/manual job is certainly good enough to sell but the price is a bit wayy too high and he should have been clearer about the nature of the item. But as long as he's genuinely the guy who made the covers, I don't really see a problem with him selling it as long as it's clear that the fact that the game happens to be on the disc is only a bonus and the cost of the item is just for the snazzy professional looking artwork.

I don't have any issue with him selling just covers or manuals, my problem is that these packages are created first and foremost to look like the genuine article and therefore have the potential to deceive. Factor in the cost of these items - roughly £25 with shipping - and you'll have people not exactly in the know who will be thinking that they are buying legitimate discs, not something they could d/l themselves for the princely sum of a blank disc: 10 pence.

I completely agree, I just meant to say he should explain it to people like they're five years old what it is and how easy it is to obtain and indeed make it wayyyyyy cheaper.

I'd like to see an honest service selling CD reproductions with proper label art, inserts, etc. Most of us couldn't get professional results from our plain old PC printers. A few unreleased games or fan translations are good enough quality to deserve the treatment.

No. PAL copies are that ludicrously rare. Though T-Mek and Primal Rage AFAIK contain region free world roms, to the byte identical to US ones.

I would certainly like to see that, my inkjet printer makes all inserts look like they were done on dot-matrix printer.
Well maybe not that bad :P but they certainly don't look good unless I take my very strong glasses off
