    DTL-H2700 TRG SW

    Hi,

i like to know how Sony use the "Trigger switch" on the backside of the H2700.
Its 3,5mm plug like for headphones.
Than i read this in the H700 thread about the install notes:

    • Connection of board output to the D/A converter

    TheH700/800 has toslink digital.
Is the TRG SW on the H2700 for the sound artist tool ???

I never seen this converter. Is it retail?
Also the other PSX devkits like the H2000 or H2500 dont has this analog input on the back.

Well i wonder if the H2700 is the only kit really using the Sound artist tool?
Or complete wrong, and this trigger connector is for other dev useage.
When i think back i never got connection to the h800. The MB found it but the Software cant find it.

The Sony manual says only "For Trigger Switch".

It's for an on-off switch used to trigger the data capture.

    OK.
What data was captured? For the performance analyser?

Well DTL-H2700 is performance analyser, pressing the switch turns logging on and off. I don't have the software so I've never seen what gets stored.

The software is pretty rare, even if the boards are not.

The PA software is quite easy to find actually, it has been leaked a while ago.

Maybe it was easy to find when you got it, maybe someone pointed you at it. However a google search doesn't show anything in the first page and that is what I class as easy.

If you can point me to where it's easy to find then that would be helpful thanks.

Because of the large amount of data that is logged. If you enable logging when you get to a specific part of the game then both you and the computer have less data to deal with.

    Jackhead,
The reason the 2000 and the 2500 do not have the foot switch input because only the dtl-2700 is three boards thick and has the PA board in it. The 2000 and the 2500 do *not* have the performance analyzer board in it, hence do not need a foot switch for start / stop of capture with PA.

BTW nice setup. I am about to come into a 2700 setup with a 2510 and everything, will post pics when I do... : )

    Regards,

    npt

Yes true, i dont know before what the trigger switch used for.
Anyway the h2700 is cool, but i love the h2500 ;-).
Based on the case, the h2700 kills you all space for ISA PCBs.
The H2500 is pretty cool to use all sony dev boards (sound/graphic artist board) in one PC.
Useing h25bios is also very nice.
