For both the dev and debug kit thats a very good price I must say, also both of the kts can play retail software by simply installing a hack.
You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe.

    Hi Pikkon,

Thanks for putting me straight on the retail software thing, though I think I'll probably leave them unhacked seeing as I have a regular Xbox lying around at home anyway.

Regarding the price, again, thanks for the feedback. I'd say I've almost managed to convince myself it's a good purchase... Just need to find space to put the things!

    Wow...170 for both? That's a bargain!

by the way these Discs won't work on these, at least I think he is reffering to the Final Devkit/Debug Kit

Put it this way, if you dont want them, Id take them ;) Hah, great price. Those disks wont work on the box, even if the dev kit is a DVT3/beta kit, it wont work, but its still good to have.

Well, if I don't decide to take them for whatever reason, I could certainly try sounding him out to see if he'd be happy to ship them outside Japan. Don't get your hopes up though, as doing so isn't as "favourable" an option to many Japanese sellers as it is with, say, people on Ebay (anyone who's wrangled with people via Yahoo! Auctions JP should know what I mean!).

Hell, even if you bought them, Id pay to ship them out sometime. But regardless, its always worth taking a look at the software, Japanese dev boxes are rare for the Xbox.

After much deliberation, I bit the bullet and decided to grab those consoles after all. I've not had the chance to try either out yet as work has been keeping me away from my hobbies lately, but with any luck, I'll be able to do so this coming weekend.

Thought I'd take this opportunity to share a few pictures too while I'm here:

The bad news is that just prior to the purchase, I got confirmation that the HDDs are blank.

Every time I see that crystal case I think "Crystal Pepsi" for some reason.

My feedback thread, since it seems somewhat difficult for people to find.

...So, since this thread is so de-railed, I thought I'd mention that I found an XDK in my car's trunk earlier. Totally forgot about that.
