    WTB: Good Video Card

Vague, no? Anyways, I am looking for a decent video card that could support a game such as Half Life 2 or Doom 3.

If you need to know what type of computer I am currently usinga Compaq Presario (Cenron processor) with 512 MB DDR SDRAm memory, and 80 Gigs, (The computer isn't even modified, by the way)

Payment? Well, I am getting paid on the 26, so anyone interested can name a price, or something they may be willing to trade. If not, could you at least recomend a good video card for my computer?

I don't hae one for sale, but you should get an ATi Radeon 9800XT. They rock :) In a perfect world though, go for the x800 ;)
I agree to all auction Guidlines. Still.

Hmmm, the biggest stumbling block is gonna be your P.C from the stat's you listed.

...But, yeah, either of the two that TheDeathcoaster listed are fine cards in a decent P.C

Remember though, that if you're planning on doing anything in linux to go for nvidia, as they are a hell of a lot better supported than ATI cards. Ive found that the cards which are around £120 here (probably sell for around $180 in the US) tend to offer the best price per performance ratio. Not sure which cards sell for that amount at the moment though.

Also, Does your PC have an AGP slot, as some store-bought ones don't and use integrated graphics, and without an AGP slot it makes upgrading video cards dam hard.

EDIT: Sites like www.hardocp.com, www.tomshardware.com and countless others offer pretty good reviews of cards

If you're getting a Compaq with a Celeron processor it probably has a really budget motherboard, meaning it probably won't have an AGP slot. You better check for an AGP slot before you go buying a video card.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to the part about the AGP slot.

Arg, dont remind me. Linux thinks my ATi9800 is a Rage 3D card ¬_¬

Yeah, I know, but I am also planning on creating a computer from scratch, so that's the second reason I am looking for one.
