    Problem with SD cards

    Hello!
I have a problem with my Super Everdrive and three 2GB SD cards. I can not format these cards. I just get the message 'Size 2013265920'. Another SD card with the same size and brand works without problems (Size 1992294400). I tried it with OS 6 and 8.

Try doing full format on your computer first.

I had already tried to format the card on the PC. On the PC, it worked. But Ever Drive does not display files stored on it. Then I tried to format the card by Ever Drive. It unfortunately did not work.

    @ KRIKzz
I have four 2GB SD cards. One works. I also do not forget to press start. The Ever Drive does not display files that I copied from a PC to one of these three SD cards.

IMG 100_4434 shows the good one, IMG 100_4436 the bad one.

This might sound stupid, but do you have the Write Protect switch on?

Check for a little slide switch on the SD card that prevents writing.

Are the cards you're testing SD or SDHC cards? Also, what make and model number are the cards? Does the card have any markings on the back (such as the maker of the chips in the card, etc.)? Could you take comparison photos front and back of a working card vs. a non-working card? Then, someone here might be able to check a similar card on their Everdrive.

Also, could you fill the card up then do a disk check - just in case it's faulty and you've just been lucky when reading the card on a PC?

Have you definitely performed a 'Full Format' on the PC? (This will delete all data on the card)

In Windows XP you have to make sure the box that says 'Quick Format' is unticked:-

Also make sure the file system is set to FAT/FAT16, not FAT32, NTFS or exFAT.

I already tried a normal (not quick) format. No result. I although tried some check- and test-disk utilities. No Error. All of the cards are SD no SDHC.

    working:
    TBSD9912TSA2GB
    LTSD101202GB

    not working:
    DZSD110102GB
    DZSD110102GB
    DZSD110102GB

The good ones show me a size of 1992294400.
The bad ones a size of 2013265920.

Are these branded SD cards bought from a reputable retailer, or no-name generic cards bought from ebay etc?

They are from a brand called Platinum. I bought them from amazon a time ago.

No offence but they dont sound like a well known SD card manufacturer, so thats likely the problem - the cards probably dont match the SD specification 100%.

I would recommend something like SanDisk or Kingston 2GB SD card bought directly from a retailer (i.e. from a retail store or direct from Amazon - not an Amazon marketplace seller as they often sell fakes)

The only Platinum card that has had reviews on Amazon UK is a 4GB, and so here's some choice reviews:

I wanted this for my camera and my GPS, neither can take SDHC cards. It works in the GPS but not in the camera.
This card when arrived was not formatted and showed a capacity of 3.75GB. After formatting the true capacity was found to be 962MB.
These items have failed in service, first memory cards ( I bought 2 of them) that I have owned that have done so. Had to reformat them a couple of times to get them to store data, seems that they are can get corrupted saving data to them!!!!

Judging by the fact that all 3 cards that don't work have the same model number and that these bad reviews all turned up in the last couple of months, I would assume that there is a problem with the make and batch of cards Platinum are using. I suggest sending it back and attempting to get one from another batch (or if not possible, another brand) as it appears it is the cards that are faulty and not the Everdrive.
